Supposedly, allegedly, NBC is going to invest further in the American Ninja Warrior franchise by airing 8 new 1-hour compilation episodes of last season’s American Ninja Warrior 4 – including some tantalizing “never-before-seen-footage” – on Saturday nights at 8:00/7:00c beginning February 2nd. These episodes will be distilled from the 27 hours of episodes that composed ANW4 (13 on G4, 14 on NBC). More info on AmericanNinjaWarrior.comLet's use this thread to discuss these "new" episodes and how they do with the presentation of this past season!

Doubtful we'll see anything truly "new". It's 27 hours condensed into 8 hours. I'm assuming that's 1 hour for each qualifying region, and then 2 hours dedicated to the finals.

Well they did say "Never before seen footage" so who knows what that would be. That said I'm expecting too much on it With our luck it's more fluff pieces LOL

I'm hoping for new runs, but chances of that are slim.

Iseman ran one of the prelim courses. Maybe we'll get to see that.

They had "never before seen" footage on G4's site awhile ago and all it was, was cut runs from the prelims.

That's exactly my bet as well. One 1-hour episode per region to recap the opening round and the regional final, then two 1-hour episodes for the National Finals in Vegas. This is more or less confirmed by the description of the Feb 2 airing episode coming up soon where they say "Tonight’s episode has some of the best scenes from the Southwest competition." Doubtful we'll see anything truly "new". It's 27 hours condensed into 8 hours. I'm assuming that's 1 hour for each qualifying region, and then 2 hours dedicated to the finals.

So is it just going to be the regional qualifiers/finals? Or the LV finals also? I never saw anyone run Stage 2 and Brent Steffenson run stage 3.

I'm pretty certain it will be the opening round and the finals for each region rolled a single one-hour episode. Times 6 for the 6 regions. Then 2 one-hour episodes to cover the Las Vegas National Finals. That tallies to the 8 episodes they are doing for this "compilation" season for ANW4.

Is anyone set to record these episodes and put them you know where? Just on the off-chance that everyone who actually did well is shown, you know.
Could happen.

Okay, so never before seen footage may mean how they set up the course. The Southwest and Mid-south Finals were 2 hours as well. All the one hour episodes only showed 8 out of the 30 competitors whole runs. I also know that at least one person from the Northeast, Northwest, and Southeast had one competitor cut completely from the original airing. So the likely hood of more full runs is 50/50 at best.

So did anything new get shown last night? They went into a bit of detail about the course construction. Was kinda interesting to see it being worked on but I don't buy it when they said that they watched footage from Japan. They also said they translated the blueprints, I think the translators need fired

No new runs, but it was nice having all that human interest fluff ripped out.

Is anyone else's guide showing ANW at 7pm ET instead of usually at 8pm? But some other show is on right now. I have direct tv and is watching on NBC
