Discuss.
I think three main things:
1- Not enough returning competitors.
2- All of the new competitors failed besides one. They coulda had some more skilled people, y'know?
3- Not a good balance of obstacles. Godantobi (Easy) and 2 obstacles later the Spinning Bridge (Almost unfair) is too quick of a progression. I say have all the obstacles medium hard in the First Stage. The 2nd Stage was a hodge podge of time wasters, and the 3rd Stage was good, but the Cliffhanger and the stage itself was too short.

Stage 2 having an overly long time limit (I liked the obstacles aside from the Spider Walk returning to stage 2, much less having it as a downgraded JS with the same path and:)
1 board Unstable Bridge... 'nuff said...
Stage 1's flow (I liked the obstacles but it felt like you have a bunch of early obstacles and then boom you're at the first of two walls which felt repetitive, the ni ren soritatsu kabe is an interesting idea but it feels dull watching it))
Lack of stage 1 clears, but for a renewal tournament I guess 5 isn't bad

Kinda difficult to make a list using actual results (bad or good). Try sticking to ways of improving the show and that way it might help decide what should be listed. Imagine if TBS is actually reading this - let them know actual options rather than opinions on how bad certain people did. Just a thought Carry on! (P.S. I plan to do a blog on this sometime this week when I feel better)

Basically, not enough time spent with the All-Stars after their runs and too much emphasis on the not-so-live spectator room. (Seriously, did they put that s*** in there to be trendy or something?) The time limit on Stage 2 was ridiculous and so was the back stream, you can't even fail it it's so functionless! I felt Stage 1 was too difficult but that's a problem I've felt strongly about since Sasuke 18. So rather, it's not really a flaw I see in Rising, just something that's stupid...

1.) Double warped wall - I think this obstacle has been around too long. It's boring to see people fail and then waste 30 more seconds failing over and over. I don't think it's far for short competitors either.
2.) Unstable Bridge boards. Putting the full thing would also help with stage 2's time limit.
3.) Tournament ending on the cliff-hanger... really at this point I'm sick of seeing cliff-hanger being the end all be all obstacle in stage 3. Put something like the shin cliffhanger in which is still a formidable obstacle but not too easy. Come up with new obstacles to be the challenging stage 3 obstacle. How many tournaments recently have ended on CH failures? Jesus
Vertical limit is a good start... I think. Dunno cuz no one got there. Then again, it's really similar to the CH so not too creative but w/e.

Hmmm.....in a way, I think the main flaw had to be the overall flow of Stage 1, with the fact that the main "equalizer" obstacle being the 3rd one for the Spinning Bridge, it just made the overall flow off. Normally, if they had something else instead of the Spinning Bridge so soon, I wouldn't be as vocal about.
Had they kept the obstacle where it was originally towards the end, then it would've been fine by me, other wise, that's my main gripe.

Thing is though, the Spin Bridge felt out of place near the end of stage 1, it's the bridge obstacle of the course... not to mention it was early in the course in Viking... it's just the modified version upped the difficulty too much and most of the people who experienced it in 27 didn't expect it to react the way it did in 28, along with many unprepared newcomers...

My top 3 flaws:
1) The number and placement of commercials at the beginning of the broadcast was awful. It chopped up the broadcast so much that it felt like nothing happened for the first 30 minutes.
2) The whole first stage was insanely boring. 80% of the competitors had 0% chance of clearing and it was almost maddening watching run after run after run of Rolling Escargot and Spinning Bridge fails. The shots of the celebrities at the dinner party would have been so much more effective if they would have been screaming about a Rope Ladder timeout or a late obstacle fail rather than the 50th Rolling Escargot fail.
3) The first stage set the tone for the rest of the show and made the Second Stage and Third Stage feel incredibly empty and hopeless.
