I thought I'd never see this day. Well, I turned 21 last month. If they come to Dallas again, there shouldn't be a reason I can't try out. Oh dear, I just told my dad and he wants to try out. He lost 50 pounds over the last 6-7 months and has been doing weights and strength training. Time to hit the gym... I can't let my own father embarrass me ;D

I wonder how they will broadcast qualifying round? Last year qualifying round were aired on G4 (which is gone), while regional final and Las Vegas final were aired on NBC. I wonder if NBC's going to air qualifying round as well or are they going to skip it altogether?

About the only thing confirmed is the timeline (airing Summer). So the stuff still up in the air may be either smaller show in terms of prelims, shorter shows or more centralized location. The things I'm more interested in are whether or not the winners go to Japan and if it will impact Sasuke's taping. The other issue already raised is what channels it will run. NBC is a given for the finals but I'm curious if they are going to use the main network for a truncated prelims special or just throw it on a sister station.

Are they gonna send any American to Japan for Sasuke 29 (maybe 30) or is the final gonna be the crappy Las Vegas Midoriyama? Also, if they send Americans to Japan, will they even show their runs?

So far, all we have is confirmation that ANW5 is going to happen. We don't have any details at all as to how it's going to be formatted and broadcast, or whether or not it's going to be tied at all to SASUKE.

Good luck man. Hey, I never noticed you had a go a ANW4 until I saw your video. No shame at all in losing on your first attempt. Though how was that experience for you?

A bit illegal considering he was 19 and should only be 20 now (considering our birthdays are only a couple days apart ) Hey now, no need for jealousy. I kid.

Was it what you expected it to be or were there a few shockers as you ran?

Honestly, one of the best experiences of my life - even with G4's terrible organization. What was it like before, during and after your run? How did you handle yourself mentally? Was it what you expected it to be or were there a few shockers as you ran? I drove down to Dallas for 8 hours with a friend who hadn't been accepted, so I woke up at 4 am with him so we could wait in the walk in line together - probably a big mistake on my part but whatever, he ended up being second in line behind Matt Laesig and eventually had his own chance to run (also on my channel). I didn't end up running until like 3 PM. The nerves literally felt like they were killing me. I finally shook off my nerves about 5 minutes before I thought I was going to run, only 2 people ahead of me, and then they decide to take a near 2 hour lunch break. Oh my god that was horrible, and all the nerves came back. It really sapped me of most of my energy. I got tunnel vision when I was doing the course, everything was happening so fast. Felt very weird to actually be running on it. - Quad steps were pretty easy, though I almost slipped on the second one which you can see in my video - and my shoe almost came off. - Log grip was actually much harder than I expected. I completed the obstacle but it really felt like I could've came off of that thing at any second. - Bridge of blades... was a joke. I didn't even feel it move under me. - Jump hang I underestimated obviously. I was easily able to get the distance, but my technique was terrible. My momentum completely ripped me off the net even though I had a great grip on it, I actually almost held on. My camera man didn't get a good angle, but I did a complete backflip into the water. I was a bit upset and surprised, but happy for the opportunity. Made sure to give Derek some advice for when he ran and it seemed to help considering he got a bit further than me. Met a lot of cool people there, like Paul Kasemir, Alan Connealy, and a lot of lesser known people. Honestly I can't even describe the sense of comradre' - but everyone was suuuuuper supportive of each other despite it being a competition.

Ya know, I don't understand what tunnel vision means. Is it when you can only see straight ahead of you or something?

Ya know, I don't understand what tunnel vision means. Is it when you can only see straight ahead of you or something? Yeah, essentially. It's not on purpose - you just become so focused you can't take in anything around you. It's a pretty bad thing for Sasuke, considering a good competitor should probably take a step back and perform everything 1 obstacle at a time. Tunnel vision is just go go go go. A lot of people get it on their first attempts, but it usually goes away the more times you compete.
