SASUKE 25 wound up with the lowest rating ever so while there is precedent of a quick airing, that same same precedent points to possibly not a good idea.
Actually, the time between 23, 24 and 25 are not all that dissimilar. There were 95 days between 23 and 24, 85 days between 24 and 25. No other gap between shows was less than roughly five months.
I thought Inui and the producers wanted the show to become more of an event by only airing it once a year or so?

The translation wasn't clear on when exactly next year the next tournament will be. But personally I think once a year is good. If they did do once a year, what I would like to see is perhaps they could run a different show, like sportsman, or something like that, in between Sasuke tournament.

He mentions Spring at the earliest then at least by Fall. Since specials like SASUKE generally air between drama seasons we can reasonably guess rough airing windows.
Inui doesn't necessarily have the power to decide these things though.

SASUKE 29? already? I remember the annoucement of SASUKE 28 took a Saturday from boring to awesome. I guess you can say the same about today too. I wonder if there's going to be any Americans in it, especially with the whole, Esquire takeout. excuse me for a second *barf* One channel I see picking it up would be Spike, but I don't know if they're owned by Comcast. Also, what was the problem with the Iron Paddler? I hope we don't get it in spring, personally. That's not enough time between tournaments. Unless they mean filming in the spring, and airing later. SASUKE 24 and SASUKE 25 aired in less than 3 months. Jan 1, 2010 and Mar 28, 2010. That was my point. Sasuke 25 didn't do so hot, ratings-wise.

Inui doesn't necessarily have the power to decide these things though. While that may be true.. he mentioned it was the decision of the higher ups so they at least have spoken on that issue. Details though haven't been figured out and as far as him directing again it seems they already hired him to do a better job for this one. That's my take on it at least. As far as the impact on overseas.. so much is in flux right now. NBC has fallen off the map with G4's plug being pulled. Europe.. are they even ready for this year coming up? Malaysia already said they are having theirs in May. Singapore possibly can do a small course again at a moment's notice.

Even more problematic for NBC/America is that they asked for sign-ups to compete in ANW5 back during the Vegas Finals (over five months ago at this point). I just checked the tryouts page on G4's site, it's now turned into a email listhost (to let people know when the next season is announced even though it technically was already), don't know how long it's been since the page changed.

If there any channel similar to G4 (besides Spike, which is owned by Viacom)?

The only reason G4 and Spike are compared now is because G4 (read: Neal Tiles) decided to go from being video-game oriented, to "male-oriented" a la Spike after killing off Tech TV via the merge, the difference being Spike was already an established network for 20 years before rebranding.
But that's for another topic.

Great news! I can't wait for Sasuke 29! And that's wierd about the Iron Paddler. I hope they don't fix it, because I liked the way it functioned this tournament. It's a real energy drainer.

Who's to say it won't be an energy drainer when it's fixed? That way, no one's robbed because of a malfunctioning obstacle.

From what I've seen of Spike (I don't have cable, so I don't watch stuff like it very much), Sasuke/ANW should fit perfectly on it. It's a tough guy's channel.

As others have pointed out elsewhere, Spike is owned by Viacom while G4 was owned by NBCUniversal. As NBCUniversal (via G4) controls NW/ANW in the states, Spike picking it up is not feasible. To answer an earlier question, of the cable properties owned by NBCUniversal, I would say either SyFy or USA would be the only candidates (unless you think SASUKE fits well on Cloo).

Of those I think the most likely candidate would be SyFy just as a place to stick it... They already aired Reruns of ANW2 in a marathon one day a while back to hype ANW3 a week or two before it started. I dunno how well it did they but it seems the most plausible considering it's already had it air (even if once...)

Oh the USA stuff can be in it's own thread because that's it's own fuster cluck...

Honestly it might be a better idea to start an NBC fuster cluck thread.. LOL No, seriously. It affects worldwide distribution and hopefully someone got answers. I can't get any so maybe ya'll can email or call or something to get answers. I'm picking my battles I want to keep this Sasuke 29 post free of that conversation since it is it's own isolated problem not tied to the event itself. Heck.. start an ANW5 thread if you want.. we have no idea if THAT is even happening.

Speaking of Inui, did he mention why Kouji isn't a New-Star?
