How is Nagano's surprising? He's had trouble with the warped wall for awhile now, even though he's always been able to pass it. For the last few tournaments it's taken at least 2 tries to make it up the wall, he never gets it on his first try anymore.
And he has said MULTIPLE times that the legs are the first thing to go as you age, and that his are a lot weaker than before.
Honestly I kind of expected it...
Takeda on the other hand, wtf.

I doubt anyone actually thought he'd fail it, so that's why.
He got it on his first try in 25 and 27.

I knew he had no experience on it and had a high chance of failing it... I just never expected he'd fail it like that... the way he failed it made it so shocking...

Yeah, Takeda was the only one where I audibly expressed shock at.

takeda...and ryo. what happened to him after the spider walk? Ryo quote unquote "dodged a bullet" last tournament and slipped past the third wall when he couldn't lift it. He was even less prepared for the wall lift when he was soaking wet this tournament.

Was I the only one surprised at how worn out Yamada was? He was dying at the first wall, his legs wouldn't move at all. I expected he'd be worn out but not that much. After the slight hold up on the RE, I knew there was no way he was going to make it

I'm pretty sure he hurt an ankle or something. Notice how he sort of limped to the RE.

Koji. That is all.

I kinda saw Koji's and Li's coming. They were not hyped at all and when Koji got there I had a feeling he'd fail it.
But Takeda and Iketani, nope.

Takeda's was the most shocking to me by far. Nagano's wasn't too shocking to me honestly. After his first attempt, it seemed like he just didn't have it in him, and when they cut to commercials I had a pretty bad feeling. Koji, Lee, and Yamamoto surprised me too. Ryo's timeout was pretty shocking to me too, but it wasn't unexpected since I really think he needs to do some lifting. And I honestly was really suprised at Yuuji's fail. I didn't think it was possible for him to fail a cliffhanger obstacle lol. Plus, he got both hands on the ledge.

Stage 3 didn't shock me at all... people act like Yuuji is god or something. He's human, and the only reason he didn't fall on the Third Stage last time was because they removed the Roulette Cylinder and Doorknobs, and demoted the Flying Bar. But honestly, I am not sure if ANYONE could have beaten that stage. Don't get me wrong, I back Yuuji all the way, but after seeing the Crazy Cliffhanger I knew the tournament was ending there.
All of the all-stars' runs were pretty shocking... even Yamada shocked me because I didn't think he'd do so good!

Yuuji would have beaten 25's third stage with ease I think (well the Swing Circle looked pretty awkward though).

I think the reason he failed was there were two elements he's never trained for, had this been 25's Stage 3 re-installed he would have beaten it with ease, But an obstacle where you're pushing at waist level instead of hanging and a technique obstacle that he's never encountered are what tripped him up, I'm sure he has a good chance of it come 29

Yuuji might have been able to scrape through 25's third stage, but with ease? No way. The cliffhanger was one thing. To do everything before it and then have to perform something with dexterity like the Flying Bar at the end... good luck to anyone. He's good but he's not THAT good. We just haven't seen him compete in the third stage enough really, he's only been there 4 times. Imagine if Nagano's first appearance in Stage 3 was 11... we'd think he were invulnerable to Stage 3 too. Then of course he'd go on the fail the Jumping Bars and Devil's Swing... the course was simply harder. This time, the course was simply harder than 27. He has a good chance of clearing the CCH if he gets there in 29, but not the full stage, especially with the dastardly curtain cling and Vertical Limit... these test completely different kinds of grip strength. He and everyone else has a lot of work to do if they want to make it to the final stage.

Hashimoto and Lee were probably the least expected for me.
Was kinda surprised that Yuuji didn't get that cliffhanger though. I didn't think it was too surprising but I thought he had the capability of completing that cliffhanger.
