Honestly it was the worst sasuke ever made, hated everythng about it and tbh will not ever watch sasuke again, c'mon they retire what kept the show alive for so long. Now there is going to be a sasuke 29 being made, well they really need to bring in a whole new course plus big names for it to work I don't see it going beyond 29 now

Takeda and Shingo posted about Sasuke 28 on their Facebook pages. Takeda did not watch the broadcast, btw. He thanked the fans (for their support, presumably). He said that he enjoyed competing on Sasuke with the other All-Stars again. The farewell (to Sasuke) was painful, but he and the other All-Stars will remain friends.
Shingo doesn't seem particularly happy about being forced to retire, but he's glad for the 15 years that he did compete, and for the memories he has. However, he also stated that if (and that's a BIG if) he is given the chance, he will compete again. All three translators I used, Bing (FB translator), Google, and Babylon, translated it that way. He does want to compete again, if they'll let him. Oddly enough, Takeda said the same thing. Again, all three translators translated Takeda's post as saying that he would like to compete again sometime in the future.
From the responses to these posts, I'm getting the feeling that the fans are not happy about the All-Stars being retired. People kept talking about how they wanted to see the All-Stars compete again next time. I know that Inui has stated that Sasuke 28 was the last tournament for the All-Stars, but if the reactions from the All-Stars themselves and from the fans on FB are anything to go by, I think that decision may hurt Sasuke more than help it. That's just what I think, though. We'll have to wait and see.

Heh.. Takeda said ON CAMERA during the tourney he wants to come back because he was not happy with his result and still has unfinished business With the ratings the way they are and everyone bitching about the forced retirement they might be thinking otherwise? We'll see. Inui has been bombarded so maybe a little nudge might help given that their big project didn't exactly go as planned.

Well, I've wondered from the beginning why Inui thought that retiring the All-Stars, the fan favorites, would help ratings. Now, I'm not familiar with how TV works in Japan, but it seems to me that if you eliminate the competitors that the fans like, then many fans won't watch anymore. That would hurt the ratings. That just seems like common sense to me. But like I said, I don't know how this works in Japan. Maybe Ube can correct me.

I'm really happy Kanno finally made it far.

I'm really happy Kanno finally made it far. What do you mean? He was in the third stage of 22, and made the final stage of 23. This isn't his first time making it to stage 3.

Even though the results made me want to scream, this was a pretty good tournament. Obviously, no one wants to see their hero defeated. But the results were surprisingly fitting. The old generation failing while the newer generation surpasses. I imagine Yuji went home and, without sleep, began building a Crazy Cliffhanger replica. I loved how Kanno was smiling as he was on it like "I can't do this, lol"

Didn't care for the tournament overall. The girlfriend and I were mostly just bored, especially with all the dinner party interviews and whatnot. A few people got deepish into stage three, but I really just didn't care for some reason. It didn't have that same hook for some reason.
I feel the first stage was nearly perfect, I'm just not a fan of the net climb at the end. I liked the rope swing + climb more. Stage two was a joke, but I like that it isn't comprised of 90% Salmon Ladder anymore. That swim tank is dumb. Should be a massive treadmill set to 15 mph or something. The Wall Lift was also weird. I want to know why everyone struggled with that first wall, even though it's the lightest. Stage three was alright, but I disliked the weird peddle thing. I preferred the Arm Bike. I did laugh, however, when competitors were faced with an obstacle that required them to press instead of pull, considering so many people like to focus on pull-ups.
The results are a big, boring blur to me, aside from the All-Stars. Akiyama did well, and I liked his goodbye speech and watery eyes. Takeda made an error in judgement, which is a rough way to go out. Shingo had this look like, "THAT WAS MY IDEA!", but ended up going out on the next obstacle anyway, so. Meh. And I'm unhappy with Nagano's performance because he's not too old, he just didn't have it in him this time around. It happens.
MAJOR. PROPS. TO. YAMADA. His intro segment thing was very touching, especially when it showed him dismantling his old, rusty obstacles. I love that he ditched that crap and started hitting the weights and sprinting up mountains. He seemed level-headed the entire time, but it was obvious after the Spinning Bridge that he wasn't going for time and he had no chance to clear. I've never been this happy - or had this much respect - for him. I wish him all the best.
Looking forward to 29 now to see which direction they go in. Hopefully they make some good tweaks and turn 29 into an awesome Sasuke experience. I also hope ANW is not tied to it. We tend to muck things up.

Everyone will hate me for this, but the worst part of the tournament was the over-hyping of the All Stars. They spent AN HOUR on them!

Ogasawara wants the All-Stars, or at least Shingo, to continue to compete. He commented on Shingo's status joking about how, years down the road, the Sasuke announcers will be talking about how Shingo is 80 years old and still has perfect attendance at Sasuke, LOL.

I really wanted to see how Okuyama and Kongu would have done.

Well Kongu was confirmed to have been there, but just didn't compete. He can be seen in the background of the reactions during Nagano's attack against the 2nd wall of the Ni Ren Soritasu Kabe.

Personally, in response to comments about Stage 2 being "boring", I like the switch between the 1st and 2nd stages. For a while now, Stage 1 felt insanely repetitive, even if I didn't have that much of an issue, probably because of its length. With Stage 1 being what it is now, the runs are over quick enough. Stage 2 is now the methodical timed stage, although that could be just for this tournament, considering most of the obstacles were new. The time limit is only too long for people who speed through it.

I love all the stages, though I have no idea why stage 1 was so brutal... was it because of the time limit? I mean jesus christ.
Stage 2 is definitely weird.. but different is good imo.

More the obstacles, particularly the Spin Bridge. They said in the broadcast that #37 was the first to clear the Spin Bridge and only 1 person out of the first 50 people cleared the Jump Hang (the guy that cleared the stage). That I think says a lot about how deadly the Spin Bridge and Rolling Escargot were throughout. Also, the time limit didn't help either.

After 15 months of no Sasuke and not even a word on whether when of if it'll return I can honestly say I enjoyed this tournament. Not the best mind you but pretty enjoyable and a lot of emotion going into it. I mean Shingo almost broke down seconds before he started.
Stage 1 was... I don't know I mean even with the new obstacles and the tweaks to the old obstacles this stage 1 doesn't seem that hard compared to past competitions. Kouji failing on the first stage was not would I expect from a guy who was the first to clear the UCH. And never in my wildest dreams would I ever thought that Nagano would fail at the WW. Kind of poetic though, Nagano failed at the obstacle that beat him on his first competition. It ended where it began I guess. As far as the obstacles go, it looks like the REAL Rolling Escargot from 26 is back with a new paint job. The balls on the Spin Bridge look smaller and they're more spaced apart making it more INTENSE!!!(TAKE NOTE NBC.) And the DOUBLE Warp Wall... nuff said.
Stage 2 I think was built as more to slow you down for what's to come as it was in the past to actually kill you. The only threat in that stage was the SSL. On the USB I wish the would've the 2 chains version not the 4 chains. The Backstream was unique to say the least. I could only imagine how Yuuji must feel coming out of there considering it was FREAKING NOVEMBER IN JAPAN!!! Anyway....
Stage 3.... can I just say the IRON PADDLER like WTF!!! It doesn't necessarily kill you but it'll drain the f*** out of you, and right before you reach the Crazy Cliffhanger which again like WTF. I mean be it as it may I don't think it's as insanely hard as UCH but still like holy s***. I also think Yuuji may need surgery after those two obstacles.
And who knows what Inui has in store for us for the final stage. We can only imagine. Anyway this tournament was fun. Hopefully Sasuke 29 will fix the problems 28 had. Sad to see the All Stars go especially after their bad performances but hopefully they can figure out how to pump some new blood in to Sasuke so we can get the ratings back up. Here's hoping for Sasuke 29.

I'll do what I can to get complete translations for the speeches but it will be when I get to them on the blog. Most were predictable though thanking people for their support and the love they have been bestowed. The friendship of the all-stars and for giving them a chance. Moving on to a new life.. then Takeda throws a curveball and says he doesn't like his result and has unfinished business and wants a chance if they let him. Then Nagano said absolutely nothing to further the cause. That was all on air. AFTER that facebook lit up this morning with Takeda again asking to go on again. Shingo jumping on the bandwagon wanting to come back too.

I'm sure they can tryout I doubt they'll be like "Oh no you cannot try out Nagano, you're an All-Star, you are DONE! NO SASUKE FOR YOU!" (soup Nazi reference) Then Nagano will say" Brah screw you and slaps him"
But if they let him try out they'll be like "What's your special talent?" Nagano:" Brah I freakin' won Sasuke ! That's my special talent" The Audition Guy says" Okay I'm sorry sir please let me kiss your feet"
and Inui comes and says Free Sasuke shirts for everyone in the world!!
