Officially it's just been called "Sasuke Rising" so far, we're going by Sasuke 28 because it is the new installment in the Sasuke franchise. I mean we still call the last Kunoichi "Kunoichi 8", I don't remember any official statements calling it that (I remember Kunoichi 2009, I remember "Female Sasuke", I don't remember any official "Kunoichi 8"), I hope Sasuke Rising isn't as drastic of a change as that but I'm just making a point that right now, Sasuke 28 and Sasuke Rising are interchangable as far as the fans are concerned. and they wrote it was 28 in their press releases. Aaaaand we can ignore this whole post I just wrote because evidently I derped... but the other point still stands about the interchangable names

HELL YYEEEAAHHH!!!! What a year we've been through. There is always hope. Is it confirmed as "Sasuke 28" or simply "Sasuke Rising"? Does anyone know the likelihood of them accepting people who don't know any Japanese whatsoever? Will write more when I regain speech... LOL about regaining speech.. my inbox got megas full this morning all wanting to confirm what I wrote.. ROFL.. Yes it is 28 and they wrote it was 28 in their press releases. They are saying this era is tentatively labeled Sasuke Rising (the name could change) denoting the change in producer, director and obstacles. We'll see the closer it gets to December whether they keep that name. But for all intents and purposes.. it is Sasuke 28

Okay so I'm confused. Sasuke 28 is confirmed but the taping date for that is not confirmed? The dates given are only the taping dates for 2 sets of Trials? (one in Osaka and one in Tokyo) is that correct? Sorry for stupid question but what exactly are the trial dates? I couldn't find it in the google disaster of a translation of the entry page and didn't see it in the other topics. Did I miss something?

October 20th in Osaka. October 21st in Tokyo.
Until we know more, I@think the word tryouts is better than trials, especially since in SASUKE terms, trials are a specific thing.

A reminder for people who are thinking about entering:
Just because the entry form does not explicitly state anywhere that competitors from outside Japan should contact their local SASUKE-affiliates (G4, etc) it does not mean that such a policy is not in place at all.

I'm well aware of that... It's just that part of the mind thinking it's worth a try anyways just to achieve a dream

I'm with Rider. It's worth a shot. A reminder for people who are thinking about entering: Just because the entry form does not explicitly state anywhere that competitors from outside Japan should contact their local SASUKE-affiliates (G4, etc) it does not mean that such a policy is not in place at all. Does anyone have any ideas for how to actually do this? I have some emails saved from ANW4 casting folks, but that's about it. Anyone else know how to "call up" G4, or something? It's worth a try...

How funny. When I ran across this post, I was listening to X Factor auditions. The song being performed? "Hallelujah".
This is such great news. It's been hinted at for a while, but cold hard confirmation is sweet indeed.

Well this is great! But I too hope there are no really significant changes. The name "Sasuke Rising" does sound good I guess. I mean it makes it sound like there will be more tournaments after. Just gotta wait for more info and see what turns out of this. I haven't posted in almost a year, sorry. Started to lose interest in Sasuke due to no new tournaments and being busy. I'll be checking back more now, need to catch up with the Sasuke world

You realize I'm going to be laughing my balls off at all of you if they end up mimicking the ANW-style tryouts this year, right?

You realize I'm going to be laughing my balls off at all of you if they end up mimicking the ANW-style tryouts this year, right? What would that be? Just have the two trials, and have everyone run a course, and then an expanded version of the same course?

I was literally jumping for joy when I heard the new too, but now that I think about it, I am a little worried. It seems there are going to be a lot of changes to sasuke including the obstacles. I wonder to what extent they will be. I really hope they don't turn sasuke into a total joke like Kunoichi or make it so that a winner is crowned in every tournament. It needs to still be "sasuke".

I don't think it's going to be like K8... Remember it was already said the structure of the show will be the same
