Curious about the american involvement. That will depend on how new company (non-M9) would handle. Here's a few options of how many Americans (Comcast) will compete. 1. ANW3 1st Stage cleaerers (9) - By M9 rules, those 9 gets auto invite. However, because M9 is no longer around and Comcast won't allow "free pass", this would be very unlikely. 2. Same as 1. except only invite 2nd Stage clearers - same as above, unlikely. 3. ANW4 Top (Brent + 9 other who went very far.) - possibly 4. Brent only (only person to go to 3rd stage in ANW4) - possible, but unlikely since Comcast love to send 10 to SASUKE . 5. No American (Comcast) invite 6. Picked randomly by TBS and new company - very unlikely

Well the new company is made up from many former Monster9 members isn't it? As for the invite thing, isn't TBS the one who has the invites? and Monster9 was the one in charge of designing, constructing and maintaining the course?

By the way lhii789, you counted Brent twice (he cleared 1st stage in ANW3)

It's still accurate considering Brent was the only one of the ANW3 finalists to get to Stage 3 for ANW4. He would just be grouped together with the rest in ANW3 and individualized in ANW4 as the lone stage clearer.

SASUKE RISING is a possibly a temporary name. That's what the kanji after it signifies.
Also, this is a call for people to submit applications for tryouts in October in Tokyo or Osaka.
Unless they accept you (meaning those outside of Japan) directly - you would need to possibly be in Japan anywhere from a week to several months. They don't have the M9 caveat of no one outside Japan but they still can choose or deny whoever they want for whatever reason they want.

If there's anything worth a temporary resurrection from non-posting land, it's this... THIS SH*T JUST MADE MY DAY. I can barely believe it but it's FANTASTIC news, happiness and excitement just shot up through the roof!

Well, I guess it is time for me to start trying to somehow magically get accepted. I think there is absolutely no way that it is possible for me considering i'm only going to be sixteen next month LOL.

Okay so I'm confused. Sasuke 28 is confirmed but the taping date for that is not confirmed? The dates given are only the taping dates for 2 sets of Trials? (one in Osaka and one in Tokyo) is that correct?

Nothing about taping. Only that they are aiming to air it during New Years.

Interesting to find out that was Monster9's thing about restricting it by local station... But damn, I'm not sure if I could afford two trips to japan, not to mention missing work for multiple times.. I'm going to have to think about this... That and hope for Sasuke 29/Sasuke Rising 2

Probably for ANW5 for the next tournament after this... I kind of don't expect them to try to pull a whole thing out so soon...

I wouldn't be surprised if the only American there is Paul Terek.
But I hope that the top guys get to go. I think Derek Nakamoto really deserves to.

HELL YYEEEAAHHH!!!! What a year we've been through. There is always hope.
Is it confirmed as "Sasuke 28" or simply "Sasuke Rising"?
Does anyone know the likelihood of them accepting people who don't know any Japanese whatsoever?
Will write more when I regain speech...
