WOOOOW I just watched the whole navi, what a crazy a** course. So much for any All-Star making it to the final stage, this is definitely a 3rd Stage ending tourney. It was really nice getting to see more in depth looks at the All-Stars lives and careers throughout the history of the show. Also, interesting choices for the 'new stars'. I find it interesting that when they glossed over the 'audition' process, the showed Okuyama... was his not being a part of the show a conscious decision of the director/producers? You'd think the older guy who calls Sasuke his 'personal olympics' would be a pretty good ambassador for the show... strange. Also, how about Li En Zhi, I almost forgot he even existed! They gave as much time toward him as they did in 27, I hope that doesn't mean he's going out early again. Oh, one last funny thing: I heard everyone saying how crazy the cliffhanger was, but I cracked up when I actually watched and realized the obstacle is literally called the CRAZY Cliffhanger. LMAO

I think Kouji should be a New Star.

Does anyone want to give a quick summary of the Navi for those of us who couldn't watch it (without giving away any major spoilers)? That would be very nice! Or better yet, did anyone record/upload it anywhere? Thanks!!
EDIT: Just read Arsenette's blog about it. Thanks Arsenette!!!

Okuyama's not competing
I wonder if it's a case of Li/Ryo from 27
I won't be surprised if Kouji wipes out early, and Aza makes the 3rd stage

A few guys got screwed. Didn't the guy that posted here about trials say Morikami Daisuke did the 100 pushups yet he's not on the show? I'm going to miss Kongu and Okuyama too. Not forgetting Jun Sato and Tajima.

Nah I can see Kouji making it far...again.
I'm not certain about Stage 2 though.

Yeah, I'm super disappointed not to see Okuyama on the competitors list because he gives me hope for when I hit 40. Some overall terrible decisions made on the final list I think... I mean this is easily going to be the most difficult Sasuke ever but they cut former finalists and keep tako-tencho and 鳥澤 克秀 who without fail, wipe out early in the first stage. I'm no longer pissed off about being snubbed for weaklings with TV connections at the trials anymore because of this, but I would still love to have seen Okuyama and Kong compete.
I agree that Kouji should have been added into the new stars group, which leads me to believe that he trips up on the rolling balls or something.
Still excited to see the show because of the difficulty of the course. Hopefully people make it far so we can actually see these obstacles at work. I saw the crazy cliffhanger and shat myself. I can handle shin/ultimate cliffhanger style jumps but the crazy cliffhanger jump seems impossible for me. I don't see Yuuji and Ryo having a problem though since they treat the cliffhanger like a joke in their youtube videos.

Something we were discussing in William's preshow last night sasukemaniac.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=s28&action=display&thread=4524 was my theory that Koji wasn't added immediately because Kanno already fits the gymnast role of the New Stars. Something that has been almost a prerequisite is that they don't double up on occupations whenever possible. Kanno was always known as a gymnast and was one of the first of the New Stars moniker when they first tried it way back in Sasuke 22 and Kanno got to the final in 23. Also people keep forgetting that Kouji gets fast forwarded a LOT even when he does clear! So somehow TBS doesn't like him very much. Who knows though, if all of this works and people like the changing of the guard there's no reason why TBS wouldn't add someone else just like they did with Bunpei and the original 5 All-stars.
