I was not expecting Phelps either....like I said, no WAY would it be him!
Paul Terek, it'll be good to see him again. I guess this means his knee's finally healed after tearing his meniscus (which caused him to miss the Olympics). If he can clear the Jumping Spider this time, I expect him back in Stage 2. I think he can take down the Salmon Ladder for sure....then, you have Stage 3, and his size will probably still be a disadvantage on the Cliff Hanger. Bummer there.
Either way, it'll be good to have him back!

OK, so I figured that it probably wouldn't be Phelps, I'm allowed to be bummed out that it wasn't him.
As for Terek, I'm sorry he never really impressed me all that much. In 17, he seemed like a bit of a tool to me (and Nagano winning hurt his overall impact). And in 19, yeah he was overpowering stuff, but he didn't seem to have the height in the Spider. He was just hanging there by his arms.
That being said, I kinda agree with gazza that Terek is not the type of guy I'm gonna s*** my pants over. It's nice to see him back (and he'd probably pull the Salmon Ladder completely down if he tried it) but I'm not gonna get overly excited about him.

Hey there Kongo Express: blog.livedoor.jp/hiroakishimizu/I didn't read the whole thing so either this is the blog of a tester (Shin-Cliff Hanger is still there) or someone who worked on the set.

I read both blog posts (reporter and tester): Under the pictures of Takeda and Akiyama she says "A picture at night, and neither of them are wet...hmm, can you guess what that means? ;P" As I see it, either the filming of Stage 1 went into the night, and this picture was taken before their runs, and thus doesn't prove anything, or one/both timed out, or passed Stage 1. (Either of the latter two more likely for Akiyama, since he goes during the day) Her tone seems to indicate that they both did well, but who knows. Seems like the results were pretty exciting, as she states that she wants very much to post it, but she can't. And she adds, "something new has finally happened this [tournament]!" And Kongu is wearing #80 (or maybe #86?)

We won't know unless he clears Stage 1 again. And if he doesn't, we probably ain't seein' him.
Still, he seems to be consistently in the 80s or so since picking #98 in SASUKE 18 and doing well there.
Liked the pic with Iketani as well. I wonder how he did. And yeah, I'm curious about the two All-Stars - if they ain't wet, that's a good sign (unless it just means "time up").

Okay wtf.. who willingly takes a picture with Sato Hiromichi? LMFAO!! Thanks Ube! The same kind of guy who gets our hopes up of showing the second obstacle but just barely blocks it. Although I didn't see a bar coming down, rules out Buterfly wall, and it looks too high up so that rules out Metal Spin too. Hey there Kongo Express: blog.livedoor.jp/hiroakishimizu/I didn't read the whole thing so either this is the blog of a tester (Shin-Cliff Hanger is still there) or someone who worked on the set. Did they only take 3 pictures? And that tester in the pic kind of looks like that tester from 20 who we saw beat the Cliffhanger

This one, for reference: stat.ameba.jp/user_images/20090317/04/watanabe-kazuhisa/fa/1c/j/o0640048010153367018.jpgThere really doesn't seem to be anything there, just a ring. Maybe there's some kind of rope that you have to move through the gap in the middle, although that seems too hard for a second obstacle.

we need to see the first platform leading to the obstacle SrWilson3S says: perhaps its the wheel you hold onto and have to work round it and land or spin hanging on it and land James says: it's too high up James says: there's got to be something hanging from it SrWilson3S says: i think i saw in one pic and dont quote me on it SrWilson3S says: as was vague SrWilson3S says: one rope with a ring on SrWilson3S says: so perhaps its a single hand rope swing using the ring as grip
James says: I thought it might be something like the rope maze except a big easier James says: like, you have to get around the static ring with the rope James says: but that's harder than the pole maze
Pasted from msn chat with Okakemono

So the only thing we know about the second obstacle is that it's just a black circle/ring?, that's judging from the picture I saw. Maybe there's another ring after the first one?

Sweet just added it. So far if we count a couple of the comedy duo's as BOTH going (though I think only one of each will go) we have 44 confirmed.
