I take it Nakata's not going this time? (I mean it's understandable if not, probably, what with his wrists and all.) I'd have to double-check, but I thought I saw Nakata in the audience with the MM folks.

Ok, so at least he's still into it.

Nakata had surgery over the winter and never said he was coming as a competitor. I haven't checked if he was in the audience but considering that everyone else from MM was there (and he is in Treasure) it wouldn't surprise me if he was!

How many surgeries has he had? I understand it's been more than one, and his wrists won't exactly be 100% again.
I really hope he does compete again someday. Thinking about it, it's like, how much more could he have done if this accident hadn't happened to him?

Me too, I thought he was a one-shot-only kind of guy after 14 (as in that would be his only time) but I was wrong. But seriously, I didn't recognize him without the purple hair. It's really a shame he timed out on the Rope Ladder.

The producers didn't invite him . . . yet they have like 20 something comedians who don't get past the first three obstacles. . . This is the biggest probelm with Sasuke right now. They need to get away from these 'joke' competitors and have people there that actuallt have a chance to pass the first obstacle, let alone the first stage. If TBS won't invite Shunsuke (and we don't seem to know the reason) then it'll be their downfall because he is one of the fans' favorites and is one of a handful of people who could actually get to the final stage. I can't see TBs not inviting him back- he made it to the final stage in #17 for pete's sake.

Uh...all those joke competitors actually helped ratings by getting fans of the comedians and talents to watch. So, they do serve a purpose. Plus, its hilarious to see them wipeout.

I just don't know why Shunsuke wasn't invited... I'm sure there was ONE person that didn't need to be there...

For what it's worth, Nagasaki is currently in Spain for a training camp/non-World Cup event. According to his blog, he was very surprised and pleased that some Spanish girls recognized him from Sasuke. He said he didn't know Sasuke was even shown in Spain. I hope things change and he gets to compete in Sasuke in the future.

Nagasaki has a good chance with Urushihara to be the next winner of the SASUKE

I think if he wants to, he'll be welcomed back. He may have to suck up a bit, though. Didn't he shout curses the last time he failed?
If he does come back, while I don't believe he's going to beat the entire thing, I think he'll be one of the top competitors.

IF TBS is smart, they'll invite him back with open arms. But perhaps it's out of their hands.

I think it was 18 where he failed, and on the way down, shouted a curse that he wouldn't repeat to the reporter.

It may not set a great example but it happens in all sports to even the greats. This shouldn't even be a point for discussion.

Then don't talk about it yourself, plain and simple. If we want to talk about it, it's our thing.
