Quick, someone tell Arty about this. Arty may be silent, but Arty is watching. And having kittens.

MIPCOM started this week. Goes until Thursday. No idea when the presentation is supposed to happen but if I find out I'll let you know. In the meantime if anyone finds information feel free to post it.

tinyurl.com/9hosjg4URL was long, so I shortened it. There's the apparent schedule, but nothing that directly states anything about Eccholine, TBS, or Sasuke. Not that I suspected anything of the sort.

I tweeted to the writer that wrote the original article and this is what he said: there isn't a European broadcaster yet, they are just starting to sell it in Europe now... So that confirms my initial suspicion that this is nowhere near being ready for Sasuke 28. They are in what I call the "presentation" stage.

So... We got nothing from Mipcom, then? They used the conference to sell the concept (taking advantage so many broadcasters are there). I doubt we will hear anything since it wasn't a presentation done to the public.

Okay. Along with the Sasuke 28 airing news they added information Ninja Warrior Europe: www.tbs.co.jp/eng/programsales/news/en2012112714.htmlGert Van Kerckove, Producer, Eccholine "SASUKE has great potential to appeal to a broad audience in Europe. Next year we intend to launch SASUKE as a roadshow competition that will travel through Scandinavia, Germany, Central Europe, Italy, Spain and France. I believe that SASUKE can continue growing and be a great success in Europe."

HOLY CRAP.
This is hugely exciting news, although disappointing to see UK get cut out of that.

HOLY CRAP. This is hugely exciting news, although disappointing to see UK get cut out of that. As far as Challenge is concerned.. "Ninja Warrior" would be spoiled if foreigners took part in it. That was their defense for not sending anyone to Sasuke 28... So no I don't expect UK to be a part of this. They can blame Challenge directly for that.

Guessing that was just the one announcer who thougt he should get someone (as mentioned in a challenge ep of either 19 or 29)
I guess this also explains why they bought 23 when every other country that used the Ninja Warrior version refused to take it...

They didn't even know.. I asked. Whoever was the moron that answered in twitter didn't even know they were edited... /facepalm Then when we brought up the fact that other countries were already doing their own spinoffs they came up with the "foreigners were never in the Japan one .. that's part of the appeal" idiocy. I wanted to throw a rock across the pond at that idiot. With all that being said and the fact that UK is notably absent from that press release it's fair to say that UK just weren't interested in having Brits participate in the 2nd highest rated show on Challenge (Takeshi's Castle being now their #1)

Oh... Nevermind... Must have missed that tidbit about 23...
But whoever said the original never had foreigners is a bigger idiot than the one who didn't know 23 was edited... Non-japanese competitors have been a part of Sasuke since day 1...

Challenge was the one that said the idiotic reasons why they didn't want to ask Sky for money to send someone over. Hell. I even gave them options on how they could do it without spending a single dime.. that's when they decided foreigners never were a part of it or it would dilute the charm of the show..
