I know the executive producer of wipeout (Matt Kunitz) and send in obstacle ideas to him, some of which have been used. I've seen alot lot of good sasuke obstacle ideas on this forum so if you want to post ideas for wipeout obstacles here, go ahead, and if I like any of them I'll send them in (I'll also be sure to give feedback)
Some guidelines: -Make sure the obstacle would cause a good wipeout i.e the contestant would get smack off of something rather than just falling straight into the water. -Also make sure that the obstacle is not too complicated and would be fairly easy to build. Matt has told me before they don't like overly big complicated obstacles because they're too hard to build. -Finally, finding inspiration from sasuke and other shows is fine, but be sure the obstacle does not look to much like one that has been used on another show, as you know wipeout has had trouble with other shows before.

Fantastic. Also I forgot to mention that all explanations, illustrations and animations are welcome to explain what comes from your imagination.

I'll update this as time goes on.
- Rope swing/trampoline/big ball into the kamikaze
-Tightrope Terror: You walk across 2 ropes (one for your feet and one for your hands) and you have to traverse across while avoiding getting hit by hammers or boulders

Just a couple of random ideas that came to mind, not really that well thought out but... Slope of Doom: Pretty much the Samenso/Angle Run from Kunoichi, except this one has a section of the slope launch up to fling competitors off. Slingshot (needs name replacement ): (Should be first obstacle of Wipeout Zone) Exactly what it sounds like, just launch competitors into the Wipeout Zone like they're an Angry Bird or something

Tightrope terror is good, I'll play around with that one and maybe send it in. Try not to use existing obstacles in your ideas, 100% original is much better. There have been alot of stunts like the angle run idea (with something flipping out), but I'll keep it in the back of my mind and see if I think of any ways to make it newer looking. Not sure if a human slingshot would work safely, I'm sure they've toyed around with they idea (because it WOULD be awesome if it worked).

Like a straight path, that has a pivot at the start. After 3 seconds, the end swings down, turning the path into a slide. At the end of the slide is a nice padded wall for competitors to crash into ;D.

Well if a catapult can be done safely I'm sure a slingshot could, I can draw it when I get home if you want

Well they have had the Bobsled Blastoff from last winter season, which was practically like a safer slingshot because it's controlable. The problem with an actual slingshot is that you dont have very much control over it because it's just basically a big elastic band, and things could probably go wrong.

Okay here's what I got. No name for it, maybe you'll think of one.
The obstacle starts with a slide, then goes into two rotating bridges. They're basically X shaped (think the Bridge of Blades with no gaps). There is enough room on them to walk across, and they're probably around 10 feet long each. I can envision a lot of smacks against the bridge due to bad timing.

I might not understand the description, but wouldn't that be pretty similar to the snowflake slide from this years winter season? Also, I'm having a little bit of a hard time understanding your ideas aswell, Kamran. It's basically a beam that drops down hydraulically, causing contestants to slide into a wall?
And I'm definatly sending in the Tightrope Terror, just with the obstacles being avoided changed (3 moving bars). You guys are all doing great, don't stop!

Here's an awesomely drawn concept for the catapult www.majhost.com/gallery/manaleader/AvatarXX5/badlydrawnwipeoutcatapultconcept.jpgAlso I thought up another obstacle I don't have a name for. You have them ride down a zipline right next to a bunch of giant boxing gloves (or boots) that look like they're about to strike, these are for deception, they don't do anything, the real trick is at the bottom after they jump off have the floor raise up to knock them off (think the hidden version of the Motivator before the big balls, only backwards to launch them back into the mud after they've "cleared". Also I don't have an obstacle to go with the name but I did think up a good Wipeout style obstacle name, "The Doominator", I don't know what the obstacle would be like but that's a great name for a wipeout obstacle

I still think a slingshot would be petty hard to get just right for humans, something mechanical would be easier. But I do like the Trick Line (which is what I shall call it).

Well I guess they probably have at least tried to do a slingshot... I'd be surprised if it wasn't ever on the drawing board. And yeah, Trick Line works for a name, it's just so evil of an obstacle, just make people worry about which one is going to hit them, none of them do, people would probably stop like "I did it!" and then blam lol

I think the likelihood of getting hurt on that catapult is kinda high... As an improvement, maybe they could sit on a seat along a track, then the track stops and the contestant kicks out. It's a lot like what they do at hockey games where they have the giant slingshot and the person slides down the ice

Alright, I've sent off the Tightrope Of Terror and The Trickline. Matt's already responded and said thanks (he must have been on his email, since he responded in like a minute).
Now, here's the legal disclain that he sent me when I first started to send him things:
"Now here is the legal disclaimer. Please keep in mind any stunt idea you send us will become our property and we will not be able to pay you if we use it. As you can imagine we have hundreds of ideas on the board and many may be similar. "
So there you go, if it ends up on the show, just take pride and joy in knowing something you desgined is causing people pain.

To be fair I never expected to get payed, I'd just think it would be cool as f*** if I had an idea for an obstacle and they end up using it
