Really wish they would stop Fast Forwarding veterans who clear for guys with nice stories that ultimately don't make it. Makes no sense.

Certainly not condoning it but I can see the reasoning.. otherwise how else are they going to fill 3 hours of the finals? That's my thought on it. So far this is by far the biggest criticism of the editing choices for ANW4 this time around. They can't very well reedit it now but it's something they can learn from for ANW5. Very few liked the ratio between stories vs. runs and WHO got fast forwarded as well.

Wow is all I have to say at James McGrath's run. Fastest time so far in the entire competition!

It stinks that they keep "forgetting" that Kane Kosugi is American, and I don't like seeing people clear nine obstacles in 4, 5, 6 minutes.

I'm glad Ben Snead made it to Vegas. He has glasses exactly like mine.

Did anyone notice that 16 guys actually beat the Northwest Finals course, but that for some reason they left the last guy out during David Campbell's run?

Did anyone notice that 16 guys actually beat the Northwest Finals course, but that for some reason they left the last guy out during David Campbell's run? I remembered someone having a 6:40 finishing time. When Marcus Ramos was struggling with the arm rings, I was looking at his time, because he was cutting it close to 6:40, when he fell at 5:51. I thought I was imagining things when Marcus Ramos was listed as 15th behind Patrick McGrath. Andres De La Rosa must not have had the right "story elements."

A lot of people of the G4 boards have been complaining that Travis Furlanic keeps getting FF'd. Poor guy. He had 2nd place last night and still he was barely even mentioned. When will this show ever give him even more than 10 seconds on screen?

TBS gave him more airtime from what I gather. (I haven't seen ANW myself)

TBS gave him more airtime from what I gather. (I haven't seen ANW myself) Well judging from that hilarious interview someone posted in a different thread, maybe they consider Travis a 'neutral' character? From what I understand he's a pretty introverted and relaxed guy (his starting line prep is a yawn lol), very smart and interesting just maybe not one of those love/hate type people? I am sure he too, like anybody has had their personal tragedies, I guess he just keeps them to himself and lets his performance to the talking for him. There was a tennis player, (well still is but not nearly as high ranked as he used to be now) named Nikolay Davydenko. He had been my favorite player for years, and for many years he was ranked in the top 5 tennis players in the world, his highest ranking number 3 below Fed and Rafa. He wasn't a very emotional and didnt carry any particular flare, but his game was wicked and he could slay almost any player (he even has a winning record against Nadal). Yet nobody would ever mention his name on TV, his matches would hardly ever be shown unless he was playing somebody with more starpower than him, and he was always placed on the non-show courts even in the major tournaments during the first few rounds. He's what I'd call a pretty neutral guy, because he let his game do the talking. It was business to him.

So maybe G4 thinks of Travis as TBS thought of Bunpei Shiratori (some boring government worker from the styx) I feel bad that the quiet and non-ZOMGHEREIAMWORSHIPME people are getting the shaft. Again.. this is typical NBC so I really ought to not be surprised.

A pity NBC/G4 has the rights... from them forgetting about Kane and Travis Schroeder being American at all to completely butchering Yamada's interview at the end of SASUKE 6 and skipping over it in SASUKE 10 (just skipping over to him walking by the Final Stage tower) I really hate the direction it's gone in. In NW9, they never mentioned Yamada's letters to his family or TBS, just going "hurr this is kaTSOOMEE yaMADA aka mr. ninja warriororororororor."
Also, if I had a dollar for every fracking reference to "Mount Midoriyama" mentioned on anything NW related, I'd be a millionaire. I think David Campbell referred to it correctly as just "Midoriyama" before his qualifying run and that was a relief to hear. I could sit through an entire broadcast of SASUKE in its original form and not understand a thing people are saying and get more out of it than whatever G4's managed to crap out in those 30 minute bits.

Preaching to the choir sadly But, we know at this point nothing is going to change. The only thing I think they might do differently next year honestly belongs in another thread. We can do that after Final's airs and we can get a full critique from each of the regionals and finals in one shot as a way to express how we would do things differently. The critical things of having them rework the edited programs and more specifically Sasuke edits.. that's just unfortunately never going to change. They'd have to reedit the entire series for that to happen. They committed to "Mount Midoriyama" so they are going to continue with that. What I do find utterly amusing is the fact that TBS is tweeting every single time they use Mount Midoriyama and points to it's redundancy.. then retweets all the Japanese saying how stupid it sounds with TBS saying "yeah it is really. very odd they haven't changed it".. I just pass popcorn and laugh.

I liked the part where it is very clear who has an actual chance at completing the course and who has no chance whatsoever. When the time differences between the truly dedicated (or just those gifted with phenomenal strength and skill) is anywhere from one to three minutes it is very clear that some of these people have a very slim shot at completing the course. Sure its ok to see more people from around the country but when it comes down to it there are only really around 15 who have any chance at completing the course making the whole regional thing slightly pointless since the competition on Venice beach attracted 15 very talented individuals the past three years. Also as stated previously less story time more clears would be really neat but what are you going to do...Anywho...impressive work travis david and james.
