I was kind of hoping they'd end up saving the final 10 spots for some of the great Japanese competitors. Now *that* would've been cool. Arsenette is going to have an aneurysm. ;D Now the crazyness from the G4 boards is coming HERE

Wanting the Japanese there would have been great.. even if we have known for 2 months already (since this was taped..) that only 1 guest (Nagano) was flown over but did not compete. The part that gives me aneurysms are when people think ANW3 and Sasuke 27 were 2 entirely different competitions..

Man, I don't like this wildcard idea. Simply bringing people on because G4 likes you is unfair to the other competitors, especially the guys that have earned it historically and tripped up [levi, orosco, etc] and the guys that lost from the bubble spot. I was kind of hoping they'd end up saving the final 10 spots for some of the great Japanese competitors. Now *that* would've been cool. I do agree on the fact past top competitors or japanese Sasuke stars should have gotten the spots, but I'm not really mad about the wildcard thing... I mean hell, that's pretty much how TBS gets most of the field for Sasuke, just pick people who applied pretty much. Granted that's different since only a few spots in Sasuke are for Trial competitors instead of 90 but still

I just pondered this the other day: might they have selected 10 "assured to compete" wildcards and then picked a dozen or so "alternate" wildcards (in case some of the 90 actual qualifiers and/or "assured to compete" wildcards couldn't run the Vegas course due to injury, scheduling conflicts, etc.)? After all, the more people to compete, the more people might need to be replaced. Even for ANW2 and ANW3, both of them had to respectively get alternates after the initial qualifying rounds were over when there were far less people (Adam L. in place of Levi for Sasuke 26 and Jake Smith in place of Frosti for ANW3's boot camp).

Possibly. I remember seeing a pic of Marcus Ramos warming up at Vegas.

Doesn't sound like i'm alone, but I wish G4 treated Ninja Warrior like more of a sport and less like a reality show.

How do you think ALL of our favorites got to Sasuke in the first place? This is a television show after all. I am happy ANW went the qualies route but I don't begrudge them 10% for whoever the hell they wanted and thought would bring ratings.

Any updates on who exactly were the ten wildcards?
Also I guess there were some alternates thrown into the mix as well.
