Btw since it's obvious most of the conversation was during chat when it aired.. should I bother putting up the discussion threads as separate nights? or just do one big one and just add the weeks?.. otherwise it's going to look bogged at the top with 15 sticky discussion threads of just one page..

Nah, having discussion threads is good, hell, I didn't manage to make it to the chat, wasn't at my computer at all when I saw the ep... (Sorry for not getting the list like I did last week... should I make one anyways)

Matt Derouen killed it last night. Less than 2 1/2 minutes!! Andrew Karsen deserved to go to Vegas, he was so close to going to Japan in ANW1 (11th place), and his Lamp Grasper speed was crazy!!!!! All in all, the Semis (results and presentation) were WAY more impressive than the prelims.

Actually this is old news, some mid-south competitors were moved to Midwest competition because they were afraid midwest didn't have enough strong competitors while MidSouth had plenty of big names

It wasn't because of no big name competitors, it was because they had by FAR the least amount of entries. Just look at cali where they ran far over 200 people, and then compare that to midwest where the highest number I ever saw was I believe 118. They ran a s*** load of walk ons after-wards, and this is also including the people they brought over to that region, mind you.
So yeah.

Oh, my bad... It's been a while since I heard that... but yeah... Midsouth competitors were moved to Midwest because of a low number of applicants... sorry for the mistake...

They wouldn't have this problem if they didn't have a strict age limit Anyways, I think the amount of competitor profiles is ridiculous. At least make the profiles shorter.

Thanks man, I appreciate that. I felt like I was pretty close in my first attempt in the regional finals, I should have gotten it. I also thought I took a lot more time before my 3rd attempt to regroup, but when I watch the video I really didn't. I was conscious of standing there and making people wait...rookie mistake. Should have made them all wait a damn minute before I tried my last time! Here's an article about my regional finals run, and some general thoughts about this year's experience, and a note of thanks to all my friends, family, and fellow competitors who gave me mad love and support! americanninjawarrior.com/my-regional-finals-run-and-a-note-of-thanks/Matt, total bummer to see that you didn't advance. We were all pulling for you. That being said... 2013?

I knew about the producers fudging things, and I must have missed the part in this episode, or the G4 one, where they said that Morin lives in Plano, Texas. The stated hometown of a contestant tends to be a flexible concept for most game shows and is not specific to or particularly extended in the case of American Ninja Warrior. The place one currently lives, lived for most of their lives, grew up in, or even went to college in could all suffice. This tends to show most obviously when a game show taping in Los Angeles that fields many of your "standard mactor"-types for contestants surprisingly has no contestants whose occupation is "model" or "actor" and definitely don't live in California. As I've overheard from casting directors for Who Wants to be a Millionaire?, "Well, what city do your parents live in instead?" (They tape in New York and can have unpredictably high or low numbers of contestants on the shows for a given tape date, so having plenty of NYC contestants in the contestant pool to be used for a "tape date or the next tape date" is important.) --------- More on topic: You have my sympathy. I watched the regional finals for the Mid South, but I knew I couldn't make it through another 4 hour taping starting at 2am, so I didn't get to see your run. Well done on your run anyway, especially given the time of night!
