Someone on the Keshi boards wanted to know something I don't know the answer to: Any idea if they modified the curtain slider mid-way through the trials? It barely moved for the first few people to get there then suddenly it slides all the way across with seemingly no effort. I'm figuring the answer is yes but wanted to know from someone who was there.

I'm figuring the answer is yes but wanted to know from someone who was there. Let me start off by saying, the broadcast was not in order at all, so people getting further in the broadcast doesn't necessarily mean they were getting further during later parts of the day. That being said, a lot of people were losing on the curtains (and jump hang, but G4 downplayed that hard). G4 reps were going over to the competitor area and giving them advice on how to beat the curtain. It's possible they could have adjusted it, but I never saw such a thing happen (unless they did it during the lunch break, which I highly doubt).

They've learned ONE thing: they actually referred to the Lamp Grasper by its proper name in the preview for tonight's broadcast.

Yeah that's pretty much the response to when anw3 hadthe hang move and had it named right

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. They needed to show more wipeouts on the Jump Hang, which had a lot of failures, and usually those are really crowd-pleasing spectacular wipeouts. Too many failures shown on the Curtain Slider and the Warped Wall (except mine, it was fine to show me failing there!) Yeah, sucks I wasn't shown. If any of you want to see my run, it should be in the secret place (I think?) If not I'll post a link when i upload it. Editing on this episode wasn't all that great, only 2 quad step fails, 1 bridge of blades fail, 1 jump hang fail, and the rest were the last 2 obstacles. In reality, the jump hang eliminated the most people and led to the coolest wipeouts, so I'm not sure why they put so much emphasis on the curtains and the wall. Cool to see everyone again though, on TV.

In all honesty I'm fine with not being shown, I just wish they would have spread out the failures a bit more! Afterall, being on TV wouldn't have made yesterday the best day of my life, competing on the course was the best day of my life. Being shown would have just been icing on the cake. More motivation to do better next time, I think! Matt: Now that you're pretty much guaranteed a spot in future anw's, me and my friends will be the first in line this time

Here's that Curtain Slider comparison I was supposed to get... spoiler'd for size and it is showing people at the obstacle but more for size While it doesn't look like where the obstacle is where they reset it is different... it looks like they tightened the cable track a bit during the day since it seems to hang down less in the middle...

Or that could just be the wind, very windy that day.

The jouster barely put any force on the curtain and it he made it easily to the other side.

There is a technique behind it. Simply putting in a lot of force won't make you go far. Also like I said before, G4 did not show runs in Order. The jouster was far from the last person to go in the day. To my knowledge, no obstacles were tampered with all day. They were speeding through runs, and only took 2 breaks, one for lunch in which the entire crew left the set, and another where they covered up their cameras because of the rain. It's possible they could have done something really quick, but like I said I don't really think there is a lot of basis to that.

They could have just been inconsistent with how they set it up. I think during some runs it was a crapshoot.

There's just a specific technique to it.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding your comparison, but do you realize that the top picture is actually from later in the day (actually within the last hour of taping that day)? I'm sure of it. I can see myself in the picture.

Robbymac was the one who asked for the comparison shot with those two, but no I didn't realize that... because airing wise it's in order

Like I said, they were not shown in order. Broadcast scrambles it up.

The jouster had a more spread out curtain than those 2 guys.

They probably just reset it wrong, or it was due to the wind. There was no visible tampering with the curtain throughout the day.
