Toonami started out really good...had the new shows, Deadman and Casshern, had the old school, GitS and Bebop. They brought in E7 and S7, cool. Then you add Sym-bionic and Thundercats...shows that don't fit in with the others. Bring back Inuyasha(always been kinda meh for me, but still not hatin), but at the cost of GitS. Then you add Tenchi Muyo...I watched 1 episode, and I couldn't stand it. I mean, Naruto(at least in it's dub form), isn't for people who are still watching TV at midnight. It doesn't really fit. Also, kinda funny how they redid the schedule...putting the shows that fit(the 7s), in between the shows that don't fit(the two CN-made shows). Old Toonami wasn't JUST anime, it actually had the original thundercats on it, and things like powerpuff girls. So I don't think they entirely don't fit. And Tenchi Muyo is typical harem. If you want to get technical, it was probably the first "big" one. It was actually one of the first animes my dad ever showed me... when I was 4.

They were saying something about airing it uncut, but really it still doesn't fit... Early Naruto is kind of dark. You have multiple heart wrenching deaths within the first 20 episodes. Though the show never reaches the same heights it did in the wave country arc, but still - it has a very strong and compelling beginning for a shounen battle manga... much more than Bleach and Inuyasha, and f***ing thundercats do at the start.

TBH I haven't been watching Toonami recently... the only shows that are really worth it anymore have two problems 1: I've already seen them 2: They put the good stuff on too damn late... Been having to work mornings on saturdays so been too tired at that point >_> Heck I remember when Code Lyoko (which is French btw) was on Toonami I remember that show... Can't say I remember it actually being on Toonami... I know it was on Cartoon Network... I know they put it in that "Miguzi" block they had but I don't remember it on Toonami

It was on Toonami for a small amount of it, but yeah it primarily Miguzi.
Naruto it at least popular, more so than some of the stuff being put on Toonami. It's also not as "kiddie" as some of you are making it out to be. It might actually be good for ratings, maybe? Though I think the popularity for it probably plummeted over the years with the constant channel hopping.
They need Madhouses HXH, Toriko, and JJBA. THAT would be a channel worth watching.

Must have been so short of a time if I don't even remember it
Popular doesn't make it good... And it may not be that "kiddy" but it's still not really [adult swim] material, uncut or not... Also they said it's starting from the beginning... I doubt people care about the early eps anymore... I mean weren't there already a few hundred eps of that... and then a few hundred of Shippuden...
Also... 1: Haven't seen. 2: Just no... that was so bad it had to be dropped... 3: OK that one is so wtf it's enjoyable even if I'm behind... but it's still some time before it would be aired over here considering the show is new in japan...

People tend to like early naruto a lot more than shippuuden, it's really fallen off. Early Naruto was very highly received in both America and Japan, and it had competent writing and some pretty compelling and mature themes. I'll personally watch it over Bleach any day, it's certainly not the worst thing to be on Toonami. And watch what you say about Toriko before I come over to your house and 30 ren Kugi Punch you. TBH the anime for Toriko is a far cry from the manga, but it still would be a good fit imo.

f*** if I know what people think... I dropped it during the first one... Only exposure to Shippuden I really have is the OSTs for the stuff used in Sasuke, hell, that's the reason anyways, if I wanted Takanashi Yasuharu epicness I can get that from other shows... I mean hell... I'm shocked Shukumei no Senshi (among other songs) hasn't had a proper Midoriyama usage yet... Tried the manga... tried the anime... both sucked... what are you gonna do about it?

Nothing, you can have an opinion. I think is was an above average manga that fell off horribly to become literally laughable. But you cannot deny that it is one of the most successful worldwide anime of all time really, definitely of the last decade. But like I said it's popularity has seemed to die off in America in particular with the constant channel hopping, so it may not be successful on Toonami. Guess we'll have to see. Anyway, I'll enjoy watching the earlier episodes when the writing was competent.
They still need HXH and JJBA though (which you should catch up on because my favorite character is about to be introduced).

I will admit... Early on I did kinda like it... but it just got too damn bad even in the first one (And this was with more of the Manga than the Anime so don't give me that excuse ) Eh I was planning on catching up but there are other shows I'm trying to catch up in first...

They need the ; shows...you know the ones, and you know I'm right.
Also wouldn't mind Accel World....assuming that they got good VAs.
Also, Code:Breaker in a year or so and PSYCHO-PASS.
Anyway, I know that Tenchi Muyo is a show that is influential...but I still don't like it. Even if it does fit...I still don't like it.

Tenchi Muyo was on Toonami before, I think it's an obvious choice.
TBH I havn't watched it since I was like 4, so I don't know if it holds up.

Tenchi Muyo! GXP is getting pushed back to 3am. Ironically, it actually did pretty well last week, ratings wise.
Speaking of ratings, Naruto Uncut had 900k+ viewers its first two weeks; including being the highest rated Toonami show last week (Bleach took a big hit due to it being in reruns at the moment).
I'm guessing Toonami might be saving new shows until February. December and January aren't the greatest months for ratings, so it seems like they're taking it slow right now. Also, both Samurai 7 and Sym-Bionic Titan are currently scheduled to end in February, so we may be getting new material then.

For those who don't know, Toonami will be airing Soul Eater starting this Saturday.
In addition, Sym-Bionic Titan will be starting over from the beginning once it runs out of episodes later this month. That means the next show to finish will be ThunderCats, but I imagine that show will also restart from beginning.

Odd that they're going to restart episodes. I thought their priority was to get new stuff in so they didn't have to show the same stuff.

There are various behind the scenes reasons to repeat the same show. Toonami doesn't have the biggest budget, so they have to plan wisely to get the shows they want to premier when they want.

Heh it reminds me when they got more of the Freeza saga but had to go back to Raditz landing on the planet again.. The Tom intro on that was so funny.. Can't find it on youtube (I guess too old). Basically Tom was saying "Yeah.. we feel your pain.. here we are ready to see Goku fight Frieza and then Raditz lands on the planet again.. Don't worry.. all new episodes coming soon". So yes.. this is not new for Toonami.

Toonami had a panel at Momocon today and they announced a whole bunch of new information.
- This Saturday (3/16) Toonami will be celebrating their birthday by airing Evangelion 1.11 You Are (Not) Alone at 1am. This marks the first movie showing on the resurrected Toonami. They also said that they are looking into other movies to air at later dates.
- Starting in April, Toonami will be given a full make over; including a new logo, new ship, and a new TOM In addition, a new web comic connecting the different TOMs will produced this year. This is the design for T.O.M. 5
- It was also announced that Toonami will start airing One Piece sometime this year. They don't know when and they don't know which episode they'll start from, but it will be the Funimation dub. They also said that they are looking into more 12 or 24 episode series, but they have nothing to announce at this time.
