TTGL already aired on SyFy so there are probably some kind of licensing things. P&SwG it might be possible... but somehow I feel a dub is stupid since a ton of the fun was the engrish swearing As for the last one I'm not really familiar with it at all so I can't really say

Is that even licensed? OK well it was on CR if I remember correctly but does it have any distributor or dub?

OK is anyone else thinking a dub is going to kill this bit? But then again... like I said, still probably works better than this would dubbed (nsfw language even if it is in engrish )

He'd have to speak jive and the other guy be incredibly articulate. Completely shatter the point of the scene, but who'd be surprised?
Or be boring and assume the guy doesn't speak English for the dub.

www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2012-05-21/adult-swim-toonami-block-to-air-casshern-sins-deadman-wonderlandUpdate: Adult Swim's entire anime schedule for early morning May 27 is as follows:
12:00 a.m. - Bleach 12:30 a.m. - Deadman Wonderland 1:00 a.m. - Casshern Sins 1:30 a.m. - Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood 2:00 a.m. - Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex 2nd GIG 2:30 a.m. - Cowboy Bebop
The schedule then repeats between 3:00 a.m. - 6:00 a.m.
DeMarco added that Toonami will not be showing Naruto, Dragon Ball Z, and similar titles since "the rights to those shows are owned by our competition or are out of our price range." He continued, "Something you should know about THIS Toonami: We have very, very little $$. This experiment will need ratings success to receive more funding for new shows, more [mascot character] Tom animation, etc. I'm thankful for the $$ we've gotten, but it isn't a lot."
DeMarco confirmed that Steven Blum will reprise his role of Tom, which "will be an updated hi-res version of Tom 3.0" aboard a slightly different but almost identical version of the spaceship Absolution.

I'm really glad to see Deadman Wonderland there for two reasons.
1) I'm genuinely interested in the show and have been waiting on the dub.
2) There are no DVDs of the dub yet. I have a theory that if they eventually get enough money, Toonami should turn into the place to watch dubbed anime before the dub becomes commercially available. That way, there is an increased chance of viewership since viewers won't have alternative means of viewing the dubbed episodes regardless if they're legal or illegal.
It's a rough start with little money, but if this works, it could help the dying anime industry thrive.

DEADMAN WONDERLAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I like. Agreed, watched it while it was airing, might watch it just to see how the dub is. As for Casshern Sins I don't know it really... Pretty much all I've heard about it is that it has the same art as Heartcatch but that's all I really know... But I can confirm Deadman Wonderland is good

This line-up disappoints me and furthers my belief that Toonami is dead. It wasn't just a stupid block of semi-known anime and safe staples like Cowboy Bebop and FMA. It used to house the most badass, cutting edge shows a kid could ask for, like Dragonball, Dragonball Z, Yu Yu Hakusho, Batman and Sailor Moon to name a few.
Tom also used to be like three feet tall and fat as hell with a radioactive symbol on his belly. That's when I knew him, and that's when I loved him. I'll never forget him.
But he forgot me a long time ago.

To be fair while some already had a big following, Toonami did introduce some anime to america, they probably made some of these shows as big as they were here. EDIT: You know... I probably should have mentioned the true Death Sasuke in that last post

I think you're being a little unfair. That was a different time when anime was a lot more foreign to the west and was a lot more popular on TV. These days, the Toonami of old wouldn't survive because people don't want edited dubbed anime as much, resulting in a decline of its popularity on TV. Adult Swim is able to air these shows almost completely unedited, allowing Toonami to grow up with its audience. The problem is, they don't have a lot of money right now.
They have Bleach, which is (in terms of popularity and style) a modern day Dragonball Z. They also have new shows. It's a start. And everything has to start somewhere.
It's also worth mentioning that there isn't a lot of anime aimed at kids on US TV these days. Unless it's a franchise with a bunch of merchandising (Pokemon, YU-Gi-Oh!, etc.) it won't be on US TV.
Anime is dying. Toonami may be its last chance to make a comeback.

Anime crashed in Japan a couple of years ago and here thanks to money grubbing idiots who flooded the market with utter crap and wanted people to pay top dollar for it. The Original Toonami existed largely because they were paid to exist. Back then when anime was the latest fad they send a bunch of stuff to Cartoon network and said "here.. show this.. anything.. they'll love it".. and for the most part it failed. Only DBZ kept the entire lineup from failing. They were trying to cash in on the Pokemon money machine that existed. So, to expect that type of anime to come back.. stuff that was free or basically free and at the same consumption as the past is a bit far fetched.
That said I hope they do well enough to get good stuff again. This time though they have to earn it. Long gone are the days of being lucky to be at the right place at the right time. Now they have to really get on the ball and make some sacrifices and take risks to earn their spot. I do wish them luck because I've been an anime fan for my entire almost 40 years of existence. It's a mainstay in my life even if for may it's a fad. Hopefully this little project works and they come back with quality shows they can afford. Unfortunately there hasn't been a lot of good stuff and the good stuff now is so damn rare there's a huge price tag that goes along with that. (you can blame Japan for that)

Unfortunately there hasn't been a lot of good stuff and the good stuff now is so damn rare there's a huge price tag that goes along with that. (you can blame Japan for that) What's not helping is the bad economy in Japan that drives prices up quite a bit. The price for anime has not changed.. but the amount of crap produced with less budgets has. In the early 2000's seeing the gravy train a lot of anime companies started to produce quantity over quality. That's how we got to where we are today. The only ones that have gone up are the "good" ones that are pretty old (anyone can guess how much the Sailor Moon license is.. and that's what.. 20 years old?). A lot of the stuff I like watching will never even see the US market because the price that Japan wants for it and how much it will see in the USA is disproportionate. So now I'm stuck having to decide if I want a sub only DVD of a show that's only 11 episodes for almost 50 US bucks.. that's ridiculous. There's only so much Funimation can buy as well (as they are the only company that's releasing stuff at a reasonable price) as they have to be careful what they buy and what they can sell to stay afloat. Japan though is not helping as they are trying to sap blood out of a stone right now. But no the overall cost hasn't changed but the economy has waned so it feels worse now.. or at least people are now cognicent of how much this stuff costs.. For those who are interested in this type of thing, ANN has written a ridiculously excellent article on the cost of producing anime in 2012. www.animenewsnetwork.com/feature/2012-03-05

It's also worth mentioning that internet piracy has been a factor for anime sales, especially in the US since "fan" subs of a show can appear on the internet within hours of it airing on Japan. Magna has it really bad because scanlations of the latest Shoen Jump can appear online before the magazine even becomes commercially available in Japan. Obviously piracy isn't the only factor, but it has made an impact. If Toonami becomes the place to watch the debut of the dubbed versions of anime, it would give Toonami more of a fighting chance.

Another thing that has changed the landscape is actually Bluray.. Japan is region 2 in DVD but they share region 1 with the USA. That has caused delays of shows based on that alone because Japan didn't want people to import "cheaper" Blurays from the USA.
