So sad to see Travis call it quits I wonder... does he compete in Vegas? He's not in the NW photo... or at least he's not easily visible. Maybe he got injured? Uhm.. read the post. NBC did not allow him to compete because he has an outstanding warrant..
Edit: I read the story earlier when it had posted he had an outstanding warrant and NBC's background check caught it (Seems G4 never did when they sent him to Japan). So that cut his event short and that's why he wasn't in the event. Maybe David can confirm if I read that correct or not. That's what I read earlier this morning but I see he has since edited it.

Well it does say he had trouble with the law and got away but the wording was vague, he could have eventually settled it but the warrant thing is possible, although my main question is what did he do and how long has he had a warrant lol EDIT: And better question... If you have a warrant, why go on (inter)national television 3-4 times lol

Though I'm curious.. his passport would have been revoked .. so lots of questions. Either way. That's a personal thing for him and he is going to take care of it and start over. I wish him luck and enjoyed the contribution to Sasuke. He's an awesome competitor will be missed. Real life takes precedence over a game show so I'm happy he's finally getting priorities taken care of.

I understand the reason, I just mean why risk getting caught like that, although for a chance like Sasuke I guess it is understandable... Although if G4 is that bad with checks... damn, I should have tried to get on already if their security is that low And I agree with you on the rest of that.

How is G4/NBC going to explain his absence? He had what, the second fastest time in his region??? I didn't really catch the whole warrant thing earlier to be honest, that is strange... what did he do? How did he get away with it? What is his real story?

I bet you NBC just ignores the whole thing.

Sucks Travis F. retired Anyhow, I was watching some Semifinal episodes and I couldn't help but think David Cabrera looks like John Redcorn.

Unless it's a violent crime, a criminal record is lower on my list of concerns than something like doping.
The difference between SASUKE and ANW, for me, is that I'm always wondering which ANW contestant is artificially enhanced.

American Ninja Warrior Finals with Hosts Matt Iseman and Johnny MoseleyI was excited about a 2-hour finale when I thought it was 9pm-11pm, not 8pm-10pm, and the final stage sounds like SASUKE 27's, a 65 foot rope climb: thefutoncritic.com/listings/20120706nbc03/"AMERICAN NINJA WARRIOR"
"FINALS"
07/23/2012 (08:00PM - 10:00PM) (Monday) : 'AMERICAN NINJA WARRIOR' CONCLUDES WITH A HEART-RACING TWO HOUR SEASON FINALE EPISODE FROM LAS VEGAS AS REMAINING FINALISTS TAKE ON THE ULTIMATE CHALLENGE - A FOUR STAGE COURSE MODELED AFTER THE STUNNING 'MOUNT MIDORIYAMA' IN JAPAN - Top finishers from the NBC regional finals tackle the ultimate challenge - a four stage course modeled after the famed 'Mount Midoriyama' course in Japan. Tonight's remaining competitors take on Stage 2 and possibly stages 3 and 4, which includes the Double Salmon Ladder and the Spider Flip. Only the competitors skilled enough to conquer all obstacles in stages 2 & 3 will move onto the final stage 4, a breathtaking 65 foot Rope Climb. Comedian Matt Iseman and Olympic Gold Medalist Jonny Moseley host and Angela Sun ("Yahoo! Sports Minute") reports from the sidelines as the competitors continue in their quest for the $500,000 cash prize and the chance to win the first "American Ninja Warrior" title.

Travis F. calling it quits sucks. Explains why both his runs got digested I guess.

No they don't.. they just rewrite the press release and call it a day. Which is why I get so damn frustrated.

I updated my post about the G4 Stage 2 commercial: Based on the outfit, it looks like Josh Lobeck is the one that plummets after failing to transition to the second salmon ladder.

Hi, been watching AWN and loving it so far. It's so exciting! The 4 stage course in Vegas is such a step up from the region qualifiers. Can't wait for AWN 5 so I can have a shot at it!

It's a shame to lose Travis F., but we don't want anyone feeling obligated to return to the course over all else, like Katsumi Yamada. I wish him the best for whatever else is next for him.

To be fair the washington post usually distorts the truth, but damn that was filled with inaccuracies...

Let's chalk another up for G4 if you wish. Drew Drechsel posted his Stage 1 run on YouTube. After a while YouTube blocked it because G4 claimed copyright infringement (they obviously have that right, to be fair), however, they failed to realize it was Drew himself who posted the video. They then took away the claim, but still. There's more than a few Ninja Warrior videos on YouTube, and the one video they decide to block ends up being the video posted by a competitor you consistently promote. That's a fail if I ever saw it.
