New info about the obstacle after the UCH: It's the Rope Junction. Wow, good luck to anybody who can even come close to clearing this third stage, definitely more brutal than any 3rd stage the real sasuke has put up, its even harder than 25!!

New info about the obstacle after the UCH: It's the Rope Junction. the joke may be dead, but if brent is the only one in stage 3, it will still have no function.

Interesting pic: Could this mean the rumors are false? Weird that there are 10 people (Besides Angela) in the pic.

Very interesting, those look like some of the top qualifiers. But weird to see Campbell and others in their that were not in the stage one clear pictures.

I've always wondered why Mr. SASUKE or none of the other All-Stars or well-known competitors not named Nagano have ever been invited.
No offense, just wondering why they always invite Nagano. I know for ANW2 they brought Yuuji and Okuyama there but that was it. For ANW3 all they did was bring some of their stuff here, like Shingo Yamamoto's old manager hat or Nagano's old Descente tanktop. I understand there was an auction and Professor Coombs had gone for $3050 worth of this (and got a slot in SASUKE 27 for it) but they didn't even invite Nagano to participate or anything.

Actually it wasn't Coombs who got all of it, it was a bunch of different auctions for all the stuff, he just won the spot on Sasuke item

In Japan, Yamada is the most recognized competitor/most likely to succeed according to that silly random survey for Sasuke 25. If you did that exact survey, in the U.S, I'd bet money that Nagano would be that #1 recognized person. That's likely why Nagano gets to go, when they do get competitors from Japan; he's the one people will instantly recognize and go, "Hey, he's the Grand Champion for Ninja Warrior!" IMO, Nagano more or less won at the "right time" if you will, when G4 pushed Ninja Warrior more than ever before with their graphic redesign and it becoming their highest rated show and whatnot, it was during Nagano's domination. I'm certain the episodes they've shown the most are the ones where Nagano was either the Last Man Standing, or one of the best results of the day/or had a shocking failure and since the announcer would make a big deal about it, thus he is a big deal sooner in the eyes of the viewing public, especially in the U.S. At this point I'm going in circles, but that's my personal opinion/theory. He likes to participate more with things like these, that would help too. All that I posted + his genuine want to go, gives his a better chance than say Yuuji, who expressed his eagerness and discouragement at wanting to go, but seemingly not even being considered this time around.

^ To be honest, I think if Nagano missed a Sasuke tournament, there would be a bigger dip in the number of viewers than if Yamada missed a tournament.
Though I'd love for all of the All-Stars to be invited to ANW4.

I understand there was an auction and Professor Coombs had gone for $3050 worth of this (and got a slot in SASUKE 27 for it) but they didn't even invite Nagano to participate or anything. The auction for Timothy was different than was shown in ANW3. The articles of clothing in ANW3 were there on loan from the All-stars and mailed back to them. What Tim won was just the spot on Sasuke. The money was donated to the Japan Red Cross and he still had to pay his way to Japan after that. As for Nagano, he is by far the most recognizable worldwide and quite a large margin. Remember that Nagano's win was one of the first shown worldwide and the fact that Nagano is a hell of a lot more personable than Yamada. Yamada's prime was during the early years in Japan but by the time Nagano came around everything changed. Nagano is the face of Sasuke. Yuuji should be promoted more and I know he is depressed that he isn't as well known but he doesn't begrudge Nagano since Yuuji is a hardcore Nagano fan himself. As for why they don't invite anyone else.. that's been a mystery. One of the prevailing rumors for ANW4 was that no one from Japan would have liked to see the show "Americanized" but then Nagano was invited literally at the last second.. so that excuse was bogus. Can't be a money issue either. My own personal guess is that they are trying to just promote ANW and having more than just a guest for the audience would dilute event being what it is. Considering when this was done and the strong rumor that Sasuke was done being prevalent even to NBC, they took the opportunity to just take ANW by itself and run with it to make their own mark in the entertainment world. Though judging by the remarks of casual people hoping that the last 10 competitors were all Japanese.. I'm sure that's catching NBC's attention for next year.

Great news from tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2012/07/03/top-100-competitors-have-been-selected-as-g4-and-nbc-premiere-first-ever-american-ninja-warrior-national-finals/140456/It’s not too late to see what 44.1 million Total Unique Viewers across both NBC and G4 have watched when the national finals for American Ninja Warrior start Sunday, July 8 at 9pm ET/PT on G4 before shifting to NBC on Monday, July 9 at 9pm ET/PT. NBC will continue the finals coverage on Monday, July 16 at 9pm ET/PT before the epic two-hour conclusion, Monday, July 23 at 9pm ET/PT.I really wanted a 2-hour finale to allow the ratings to build to a crescendo, so I'm excited about this. I'm not expecting a 3.0 in Adults 18-49; I'll be happy with the finale hitting a season and series high with a 2.5 or higher.

Thanks for the update on the extension of the Final episode on the 23rd (NBC). That's a change from the original list. While I'm thinking of it... I should add the discussion threads for the upcoming weekend.

Travis Furlanic posted this on the G4 forum topic, "Does G4 hate Travis Furlanic?" Sounds like he's retiring from the show.
"Let me tell you about a boy that lived on an Island. He grew up always wanting to be an explorer always hiking everywhere trail or no trail he would find a way through the brush for fun, maybe find a coyote trail and follow that if it's in the direction he's heading. Climbing huge sandy bluffs all day long doing flips off them and building 10 foot bonfires on the beach with little driftwood houses to lay in and hang with friends. After so long on an island you've done everything and need to spread your wings. What better way to do that then hike. Into The Wild style. After all, he's been studying native plant life (edibles and medicinals), edible mushrooms even for the past 3 years. He loved learning all he could about survival always watching and taping episodes of man vs wild and survivorman and when he turned 23 he went walkabout to put all that he learned to the test. Survival kit...check. Magnesium and flint...check. Knife...check. Sleeping bag...check. Takedown bow and arrows...check. Invincible attitude...check. Lol. Well before this trip was underway he got in trouble with the law. They said "go to court, pay this pay that, do this do that for a year...bla bla bla. The boy frustrated with the thought of staying on the island for a whole year more decided that the issue isn't going away...lol, but I am!!! The trip planned was too important. He felt it in every ounce of his being. He told himself that nothing will stop him from this trip...and nothing did. It was the most amazing trip the boy could ever ask for. Every morning was the beginning of a new adventure, meeting new people and experiencing new things. The trip was everything and more the boy could have ever asked for...plus it lead him straight into Ninja Warrior!
This boys name is Travis Furlanic and WhiteDogg was my "trail name" a bunch of hippies gave me and 115 was my number at ninja fest in Santa Monica. Life comes in chapters and pages. With the end of one chapter comes the beginning of a new one. I am very excited about this next chapter of my life. There are alot of things i put on hold so that i can engulf myself into ninja training but now i need to take care of all that, myself, and my future. My body is beaten and battered and is in much need of meditation, yoga, stretching, massage, and spas!!! You can find me teaching parkour and ninja related things but you will not see me compete for some time. This ninja is retiring. Ready for a new Chapter. "

So sad to see Travis call it quits I wonder... does he compete in Vegas? He's not in the NW photo... or at least he's not easily visible. Maybe he got injured?
