5 days shy of my 20th birthday and I have finally have a driver's license. ;D The most disappointing part was the actual driving test. I was preparing for highway driving, lane changes, and merges. It turns out the entire test was nothing more than a leisurely drive through the neighborhood. I did have to parallel park, which was definitely the hardest part (I took the test in a minivan), but I was sweating over nothing. What a great feeling. I just hope my parents don't all of a sudden expect me to run errands for them

You should've asked a friend what the test was like before taking it.
Your test sounds similar to mine. There was no highway driving or anything like that. Just a trip through the neighborhood and back, mixed with some parking here and there.
Anyway, congrats. Better late than never.

I got mine the day after my 16th birthday.

I don't think they every take you through the highways unless your in a super big city like LA.. Or something like that. I know I took mine in a neighborhood and it's only nerve-racking if you have an uptight instructor. Either way I feel old I got mine nearly two years ago. Where does the time go?

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post on this thread since it's well over six years old. I'm always curious as to how people gained their confidence on their driving and how they got through their driving test? For those who haven't sit their driving test, or who are trying to, there's always time and it takes a bit of patience.
