I have always felt the celebrities have taken too many of the spots. Seeing how many of the celebrity runs they show, i think 30 spots max should go to celebs and the other 70 to serious competitors, maybe more
And celebrities who haven't even gotten past the first obstacle before shouldn't be allowed back.

You do realize there are likely viewers who turn in just to see their favorite comedians bomb on the steps don't you?

Yes i know but they don't show that many of the runs, so why not have less celebs and show all of their runs ?

Because the show post-production must be edited to a specific timeslot. It's why some competitors will get shown one tournament or digested and even cut from the broadcast the next.
Celebs have always been a part of Sasuke. Akira Omori, comedian. Kane Kosugi, actor. Celebrities help bring in ratings, whether M9/TBS knows they'll bomb on the course or may do quite well.

I actualy kind of enjoy the competitors that we know won't make it past the first stage. Mr. Octopus, Mr. Butterfly, and the like are uber fun to watch, just to see how far they'll get this time. Everyone knows that they won't make it over half way through the stage; but it provides a nice break from the serious competitors, and is a big part of/draw to the show. My two cents.
