Yuuji would have won regardless if the time limit was 35 or 40 seconds.

A couple of patterns broken here:
-For the first time ever, Yuuji did better than Kanno for 2 tournaments in a row -Shingo and Kanno did NOT fail the same way since Sasuke 24 -Lee and Okuyama did not fail the same way since Sasuke 24

I'd put Nagano fifth place.

Yeah yam, why is nagano so low? He almost held on. Not sure how james and paul are higher.

Nagano proved again that he's still capable of winning. His defeat on the UCH was a technique problem, not a strength issue. I think he would have fallen at the same place if he got there in 25. I just wish he could have proven that beating the UCH was possible without building a replica of it (I still beilieve that). 3/4 of the Americans, who practiced on replicas, couldn't beat it, because of their endurance. Nagano outclassed every American (in my opinion) and proved that he can still win.

Nagano actually overshot the ledge with his right hand somewhat, had he hit it perfectly, I think he would have been able to hold on.

He's still 5th best of 27.

I'll give a stat not just to 27 but everytime Hatsuta has commentated the final stage someone wins! 17 24 27 I cannot remember if he commentated 13 though.

I'll give a stat not just to 27 but everytime Hatsuta has commentated the final stage with more than one person someone wins! 17 24 27 I cannot remember if he commentated 13 though. Fixed. Additionally, Hatsuda has announced three of the last four kanzenseihas, even with being the lead announcer for the same length as that other guy whose name eludes me. Both times he came out of retirement, he announced a kanzenseiha. Also, Yuuji is the third person to go 3/3 on the Third Stage, with Omori and Nagano (who was the only of the three to fail) being the others. On both Yuuji's and Akiyama's first try at an all-rope climb Final Stage, they defeated it. Neither had cleared the Second Stage in the prior tournament, and both had failed the Second Stage two tournaments prior. If the title of "Mr. SASUKE" really transfered to Nagano during 23, Mr. SASUKE has been #100 for all four kanzenseihas. This tournament is the first where a former champion cleared the First Stage in a kanzenseiha tournament. Three of the four kanzenseihas have been aired in October. Ryo and Yuuji cleared a combined total of 6 obstacles last tournament. This tournament, they had a combined total of 45. Ryo's name is added to the illustrious list of people clearing the Third Stage on their first attempt: Akira Omori (1), Yo Tadashi (1), Takayuki Kawashima (1), Ken Hasegawa (1), Hikaru Tanaka (2), Kazuhiko Akiyama (4), Jordan Jotchev (8), Bunpei Shiratori (12), and Yuuji Urushihara (22). Kanno is the second person to wear both #1 and #99 (Akiyama is the other).

I believe Katsumi Yamada and Kouji Hashimoto are on that list, too.

They are, as well as Minoru Matsumoto in 3. The Mr. Sasuke comment in 23 was Ogasawara talking out of his a** like he does.

1st Stage Obstacle Fail Breakdown: 100 competitors, 79 Results SS - 10 RE - 20 GS - 8 JS - 3 HPA - 3 WW - 5 SB - 3 TR - 0 RL - 0 Clear - 27
Other stats:
Consecutive First Stage Clears: Takeda Toshihiro 8 (SASUKE 11-18) Nagano Makoto 8 (SASUKE 11-18) Shiratori Bunpei 7 (SASUKE 11-17) Okuyama Yoshiyuki 6 (SASUKE 22-27) Yamada Katsumi 6 (SASUKE 1-6) Li En Zhi 6 (SASUKE 21-26) Hashimoto Koji 5 (SASUKE 23-27) Yamamoto Shingo 5 (SASUKE 11-15) Kane Kosugi 5 (SASUKE 1,4,6-8) Nakata Daisuke 4 (SASUKE 8-11) Brian Orosco 4 (SASUKE 21,23,25,26) Yamada Koji 4 (SASUKE 15-17,19) Urushihara Yuuji 4 (SASUKE 22-25) Yamada Katsumi 4 (SASUKE 9-12) Asaoka Hiroyuki 4 (SASUKE 10-12,14) Consecutive Third Stage Appearances: Takeda Toshihiro 7 (SASUKE 11-17) Okuyama Yoshiyuki 6 (SASUKE 22-27) Nagano Makoto 4 (SASUKE 11-14) Shiratori Bunpei 3 (SASUKE 15-17) Nagano Makoto 3 (SASUKE 16-18) Takahashi Kenji 3 (SASUKE 23-25) Li En Zhi 3 (SASUKE 24-26) Omori Akira 3 (SASUKE 1-3)
5th straight tournament (as long as TBS/M9 is choosing the numbers) that #84 cleared: 22 - okuyama 23 - kongu 24 - washimi 26 - campbell 27 - morimoto
First time since Nagano won with #99 that a person wearing #99 has made it to the Third Stage (and Final Stage).
The Americans dominance of the first two stages continue: Americans had the top 2 fastest times in the First Stage, 4 out of the top 5, and 7 out of the top 10. In the Second Stage, the Americans had the top 3 times.
However, since G4 started sending Americans in SASUKE 19, Americans are 0 for 8 on Cliffhanger obstacles.
Interesting that the last 3 people to clear the Third Stage on their first try, cleared the UCH in 27 (Ryo, Yuuji, and Kouji).

Actually, Yamada has a better record than that for first stage clears. He cleared the first stage every time in Sasuke 1-6. His record is actually 1-6 and 9-12.

Yes, I got both of those runs noted. He shows up twice on that list for consecutive first stage clears.
