I'll give it an 8/10.

I gave an 8, because the win felt a little too soon and the editing wasn't the greatest.
Plus the time limit in stage 1 was horrid, and the ending of stage 3 was meh. They butchered my favorite obstacle, after-all.
Still, one of the best in recent memory all things considered.

Can't do much better than that. Pacing was fluid and I never felt bored watching it or felt that any part was drawn out. Well done: 10/10.

Some people rate more strictly than others. I'd only give a 10 if I thought there were absolutely no flaws at all. Not sure if I'd give any tournaments a straight up 10... However 17 and 8 are both up there.

There's not a single tournament without at least one flaw even in the most minute detail, it's more a matter of do the positives outweigh the negatives. For me, 27 did.

9/10 If Takeda competed, along with akiyama or shiratori. then it would have been a 10/10

Yea I gave it a 9/10. There were a few things that disappointed me, and the victory felt a bit too soon for my liking. It was still a great tournament though. But I'd put a few tournaments above it, therefore it's a 9/10 in my book.

It gave it a 9, because it digested people yet didn't even tell their results

Of course, that's why I said I'm not sure if I'd give ANY tournament a 10/10. However, if I had to give any tournaments a 10 they'd be 8, 12, and 17. 27 is definitely one of the best since 17.

I would certainly say it's the best we've had since 24, and definitely better than my expectations. A couple of highlights that made this possible:
-The truly slick editing job they put together... particularly seen in competitor 'profile pictures' in the corner of the screen, the cool wipe animation for replays and the improved timing of things we wanted to see... I never said "hurry up" to my computer unlike watching 26's First Stage.
-The very beginning of the broadcast with Kanno being number one. Honestly watching it live made this probably the most exciting start to a tournament ever, because whether he chose that number or not he appeared to be a sacrifice. Not to put anything against Koji Yamada but this First Stage is oodles harder than any first stage of the 5-17 era, and because of this it's a real surprise to see #1 even get past the first few obstacles. Truly exciting stuff for Kanno to beat the odds and get us started off on a great note.
-The resurgence of a lot of competitors who were "in a slump" and competitors who had never progressed to the second or third stages before. Notably Nagano's run, Wakky's run and Yuuji's run.
-UCH being defeated. By the first competitor to attempt it. Finally! -The Second Stage proving itself to be extremely deadly -Ishikawa's Second Stage run which IMO must be the most exciting Stage 2 run ever. Not only did he finish at the absolute last moment possible but he also pulled off a hell of a stunt on the last jump on the DSL. That looked impossible.
-The Kanzenseiha clearly and seeing a dedicated fan make such a fantastic run.
Things that don't make it better than 24: -Kanno's epicness was kinda ruined by his injury, which was very disappointing seeing that happen live. -Seeing a few major shocker upsets that would have undoubtably made the tournament better had they not happened. -Yamada. That was just heart-wrenching...
The main reason...
In SASUKE 24 all of the major "plotlines" of the era seemed to wrap themselves up. Kanno was not meant to be the Shin-Sedai leader after-all. Kouji avenged his embarrassing failure on the SL by annihilating the course all the way to the final. Lee conquered his past demons in the Metal Spin and SCH and finally made it to the Final as well. After trying throughout nearly the entirety of the show's history, Kong was finally able to beat the Third Stage. Even Okuyama who was by far the oldest and most consistent competitor of the era managed to make his way to the Final. And in the end, it was Yuuji who was meant to rise to the top, having sealed a victory that would go on to represent the hopes and dreams of SASUKE fans around the world.
With this tournament we just didn't see those kinds of storylines happen... though we will surely see them continue in the future.

9 out of 10 would have been 10 if Nagano had won again! He's the one everyone wants Otherwise yea a fantastic show and Yuuji and Ryos humiliation of the course was pure delight!

9 out of 10
The thing that brought it down from a ten was the third stage being just ugly. That and they shortened/took out some really great stage 3 obstacles and replaced them with crap (arm bike).

I can agree about the Third Stage being ugly now... I know that I defended it before but that was just to stop the crazy flaming. The Arm Bike is NOTHING.... NO-THING compared to the slick and deadly-looking Roulette Cylinder-Doorknob Grasper combo. The Flying Bar was good but I actually kind of preferred Cycling Road. I like how it looked and I think it's a decent 'before UCH' easy obstacle and I like the theme of home appliances... you get doorknobs then wheels then DEATH.
The UCH was turned into cake... gripping the Flying Bar for 15 seconds didn't look very draining. Neither did the Swing Circle (which should be made longer and take away the ladder). If they wanted to really kick the competitors butts they could make the Swing Circle go right into the Chain See Saw. Finally, the Bar Glider was a cool idea, but the gap at the end could be lengthened and the pole could be slickened like the Pipe Sliders of old. It seemed to forgiving, unlike the plain old Pipe Slider that ensnared every all-star at some point not to mention countless hopefuls who could have won.

It seemed to forgiving, unlike the plain old Pipe Slider that ensnared every all-star at some point not to mention countless hopefuls who could have won. UCH "turned into cake"? Only 3 people of 8 in the tournament cleared, and it's the same version as 26 (despite earlier areas) which took out all 4 to attempt it, So that's 3 out of 12 (16 if you want to count the original in 25), The same obstacle that took out David (Who has a harder replica in his yard), Twice... far from "cake"... The Bar Glider had an upwards incline on the second track... If they made it with less traction or without the stopper no one would clear it, no matter how skilled they are, the mat distance was probably based on testers because even with the small "stopper" if you're getting more momentum than Ryo and Yuuji (who was coming dangerously close) you're pulling it back out of the stopper and probably likely to derail it. Not to mention even if the second part wasn't inclined and was like the regular Pipe Slider, Ryo and Yuuji have had a ton of practice with it on both replicas and at both Muscle Park when they were open so it wouldn't have made much of a difference... Even if the Flying Bar didn't "look" draining, took more energy than Cycling Road and it had more of a chance of taking out competitors (a job it did) Also that was Jumping Ring, Swing Circle was the 4 closer rings in 25 and 26, and with the height of the Chain See-Saw compared to it, that's not really likely for them to have them right after it... MAYBE if you had the Chain See-Saw first and have the Jumping Ring lower like the last ring (or maybe second to last) of the Swing Circle it MIGHT have been realistic...

7/10. Everything became boring after the UCH and the final was like:' someone must had won.'
