Well either way, one thing for sure is that Takeda can't compete in SASUKE at this moment. Don't get me wrong, I do want to see Takeda compete, but as long as his boss won't let him compete, Takeda can't do anything about it.

I sent him greetings (preferred not to write "send my love to Nagano-san and Takeda-san"...well...for obvious reasons ) so I sent greetings; he thanked and wrote: 27SASUKE is mortifying LOL! This is exactly what I love about Yamamoto-san. That captures his outlook and personality very well, from what I've seen of him. Out of all of the all-stars, he'd be the most fun to kick back and have a few beers with. ;D C-

We should make a petition to have Takeda compete if it's because his boss doesn't want him to have the Sasuke "image". But if he is out for personal or health reasons, that would be a different story.

Gah, I hope Takeda not competing is just a temporary thing. He really is one of my favorites, and as far as I'm concerned the show will be be missing a special spark without him.

Okie dokie. It took me a while but I got "some" information. Not directly from him though my contact is doing what he can to get it directly from him. What I can say is that specific part about his boss "forbidding him" is false. He also is not retired or retiring so I was asked to make that perfectly clear. It does though have to do with his job so many people are doing their own speculation based on that fact alone and it's not surprising how the rumors came to be. Seems it's what you guys guessed in some ways. Given the delicate nature of his new job he's kinda in a quandary as to what to do. Right now he's determining what he might do in the future. I wouldn't be surprised if the trip to Sasuke to talk to everyone was to make him decide if he's going to continue. Fact of the matter is that his new job in the helicopter squad is causing him to reassess the risk if he does get hurt in Sasuke. Remember in the past he has broken his shoulder and also dislocated his shoulder on the show. Given how elite and small the unit is.. he's trying to figure out if the risk is worth entering Sasuke. But my contact was clear to make sure that he is NOT retired and his boss hasn't said a single thing on it.. It's purely Takeda's decision that he's doing on his own completely unprovoked. The official line I was asked to write down was "Due to circumstances surrounding his new duties at work, it appears he is not yet able to appear on the show." No decision has been made as to whether he will compete in the future but as of now this is the current situation. Seems the decision is purely personal and has nothing to do with his boss "forbidding" him.

So arsenette, is his absence from 26 and 27 both for the same reason?
I mean, back in 26 we assumed it was just a scheduling conflict since everyone was given such short notice.

Since the info is out now I guess I can say this. Takeda's absence in Sasuke 26 WAS a scheduling issue. He started his new job the same weekend that Sasuke 26 took place.

Exactly what Tiger said. That was just a bad case of reaaally poor timing on the part of M9/TBS and even if he wanted to.. that was the first weekend of his job starting.
In the end we don't know what he'll decide. I'm hoping he got a positive reaction when he went and subsequently when it aired and people noticed he wasn't competing. So who knows. Until I hear back from him directly I'll just go with what was relayed back to me. Glad at least it didn't have anything to do with a bad mouthing boss as was originally thought. It does have to do with his job but not in the way people thought. I'm relieved actually.

Same, I'm glad the decision is in Takeda's hands and not someone elses.
