Thanks Sorry for the tech issues. Hopefully they will be resolved by tomorrow. Welcome to technology.. So.. thoughts? NAVI DISCUSSION ONLY.. They spent a lot of time focusing on Nagano so take that for what its worth. They also showed him right before that final stage clip several times - "SASUKE all-star" or whatever it was so again wo knows. It was nice to see them show the Malaysia trials and the competitor taking part in SASUKE. They also looked at the ANW trials a bit but didn 't spend too much time there. But nothing on the Japanese trials so I was disappointed with that aspect. I saw little or nothing on a lot of competitiors who have been quite prominant over the years - Takeda, Shingo, Yuuji, Li, Kenji, Okuyama, Kanno etc. Strange... TBS also seemed to go back in time and focus on Yamada's job at the baseball game for some reason time and Nagano's visit to the USA which was 1 or 2 years ago, wasn't it? I enjoyed it but not as much as in pervious years. I guess the main talking point is has someone won and if so, who? How does everyone else feel?

Nagano is worth all the focus lol I belive this is his time to show everyone he is still the boss! I was delighted to see Matachi get some coverage although I was shocked there was barely anything on Yuuji Kanno OKuyama Lee etc.

It was a bit odd that they didn't show Takeda at all, especially since he missed the last tournament you'd think they'd make a big deal about him being back. It was interesting to see Yamada doing his job and Nagano talking about his father (that's who he was, right?) though the way it suddenly transitioned to him training and his last battle theme began playing was a bit jarring. Nice to see a little bit about David Campbell too.

Navi is not SASUKE Mania, which was a show used to fill in some of the gaps not shown. Rather, Navi is an hour long commercial for the main show. They will focus on who they think will get viewers to watch. Nagano is the de facto official overseas ambassador for SASUKE. They would have still covered Malaysia and ANW but it just so happened that Nagano was there for both. Yamada is still the face of the franchise for most people - other than Nagano he is pretty much the only SASUKE regular who does stuff outside of the show.
The All-Stars were often the focus of the past few Navis and it's not like they've been setting the world on fire so I'm not all that worried about who we didn't see.

By the way, I've watched it again a few times and TBS seems to be telling us that a 4th person has completed the course. At the start, they show us the 3 people who have achieved victory and then go from 3/2600 to 4/2700. The writing's on the wall but we have no idea who made it. Looking at the course, it will have to be a performance of epic proportions.

If Shunsuke was back, that would have been said. He's not someone who they would go "Oh...look who is back." They even showed Kinnikun for a decent amount of time.

Why did TBS insist on showing the same spoilerific commercial 10 times??? And that one time in the middle of nowhere when we weren't expecting!!

Why did TBS insist on showing the same spoilerific commercial 10 times??? And that one time in the middle of nowhere when we weren't expecting!! I see this is your first time watching TBS You get used to it I did mention this a few times if there is a winner they will say it over and over and put as much clues to throw people off as to the identity. They've been doing that for years and I don't see them changing their formula. As for Nagano's dad I was sad to see him pass. I was happy they put a fair bit about him on the show as Nagano usually doesn't involve much about his personal life in the show so to show that was really unexpected. I doubt they even had time to get Takeda a fluff piece. Since he moved divisions he's been increasingly busy, especially after the Tohoku disaster. HAPPY about seeing Ryo again!!!

lol yeah it was my first time watching the Navi live, I guess I was just surprised that M9 didn't make 2 commercials but instead showed the exact same one as if people hadn't already seen it the 8th time already >_<. And for us who made an effort not to watch it it was rather annoying, especially when they tricked us into it somewhere late in the show where everything moved so fast we didn't even know what hit us

LOL

I'm shocked that they gave virtually no (if any) mention to the following: -Takeda -Yamamoto -Shiratori -Akiyama (save the whole "he was the first person to conquer the course" thing at the very beginning) -Takahashi -Okuyama -Li -Hiromichi Sato (I think he was there IIRC) -anybody from Muscle Musical (who I'd think they'd promote whenever they can, but apparently not) -any of the 5 Shin Sedai other than Yuuji (and no Shin Sei other than Ryo) Seriously though, I think they gave more attention to Aoki than all of these people combined. On a brighter note, I did like how that one guy seemed to be an impressionist of Kuramochi. That was a lovely homage.
