We all know this is going to take so long to release the economy will probably be fixed......yeah, no. This is going to take so long they'll animate another season of Code Monkeys, but I couldn't help but wonder this. So, Sasuke 27 airs and worst case scenario happens in the sense the whole "Americanized" concern grows because of this: Only at least 1 ANW3 Top 10 competitor clears the 1st Stage. No one else. No All-Stars, no Shin Sedai, no Vets, no Li, no Malaysia winner, no Auction Winner, no one but ANW3. Highly unlikely? Yes. The tiniest bit plausible? Yes, I think so anyways.
Say that happens. Regardless if the man/men clear the 2nd, 3rd, even the 4th stages. Would G4 possibly be stupid enough to retcon the ANW guys out of the NW broadcast and claim all 100 failed 1st Stage? Or will they bite their lip and stop the charade? Even more so, say the former happens, let's not even fathom the reaction here, what about on Facebook? On Twitter? On the G4 boards, hell, even MySpace? How much would the fanbase react?

They will pretend it didn't happen on Ninja Warrior 27. The bitching by fanboys will be... "huge"... but it won't have any effect on G4 or Ninja Warrior.

That's a scary thought. But judging from the pics we've seen, I doubt it occured.

I don't know. I feel like G4 would show the Americans if perhaps one person made it to the third stage or final stage solo but I may be totally wrong. With the way they're separating ANW from NW it seems like they're trying to move ANW in a direction away from Sasuke. Maybe they intend to make ANW its own standalone show (cutting Japan out of the equation entirely). If that's the case I think it would make sense for them to cut the last man standing American's run from the broadcast no matter how far he goes.

Agreed. If he gets total victory, it won't be shown on Ninja Warrior 27. That's the point of ANW, for someone to win. Why would they just rerun that on NW.

I swear I read the first post of this thread like four times and still don't understand what he's saying. Anyone else have trouble? Could someone tell me what he/she is saying?
*edit - no offense to the OP.

Hypothetically, if the only people to clear Stage 1 are the Americans, What would G4 do, just keep the illusion that American Ninja Warrior and Sasuke are two different events and pretend all 100 failed stage 1 or do they change the NW broadcast to acknowledge the Americans

If like Levi won in 23, how would they explain the course change? "Two finalists were so close to total victory, they were forced to change the course to keep the competitors on their toes".

And if we ask them why, all they'll say to us is....well, see, TCM's signature.

I'm probably completely wrong, but I've always assumed that G4 assumes the viewers know that the ANW3 and Sasuke 27 are the same event, but segmented by G4.

Doubtful given how many messages they delete when spammed on FB.. it's epic how many people don't make the connection.. Besides.. that's not what G4 wants anyway given how much they do to make sure both are absolutely separate. Will help in the long-run I'm sure is what they are thinking.

Me: "Just wanted to ask. Worse case scenario: Only Americans clear Stage 1 in Sasuke 27. Will you retcon the ANW guys (assuming the Auction Winner fails) and claim 27 was the only all 100 fail Stage 1 tournament?"
NW: "You are going to have to watch to find out."
I love how "trolling" the response sounds lol.
