The 2009 version of the Pro Sportsman No. 1 show is slated to air on January 3rd (rather than its customary January 1st slot). The big name competitor this year (last year Ronaldinho was a special guest but they traveled to Brazil and brought a partial set there - he didn't compete against the others) is Beijing Olympic Decathlon Gold medal winner Bryan Clay! He'll be at Muscle Park sometime next week according to the Muscle Park Blog post: blog.livedoor.jp/musclepark/archives/51313056.html

Welcome back Ube, haven't heard from you in awhile. Excellent news, wonder if this means Brian Clay is going to be a competitor, or as you said just a special guest. I wonder if he does compete in Pro Sportsman then that will lead to him competing in Sasuke.

So what time will it be shown? Wait, was it TVU or Keyhole that stopped showing TBS? And what was that other one I found? And can my new PC run any of them?

Um, processor speed is missing in your pic, and it's kinda crucial. But I imagine with any reasonable processor with 3 (!) GB of RAM, you'll be fine with any software. I have 1 GB of RAM on my laptop, and it runs Livestation without a hitch. I don't know whether Vista Home Basic affects anything though, I have no experience with Vista.
But that's really awesome. I'd like to see him in Sasuke as well. If Terek could get to the Cliffhanger in 17...who knows, Clay might do even better. But of course things don't always work that way.

Wasn't around Sasuke 21 there was something about who wants to see who from the Olympics on Sasuke and this Bryan Clay guy was someone who people wanted to see?
But thats good to know, Livestation has TBS? I'll go look it up.

I created that thread "Olympians in Sasuke" but I don't recall anyone bringing up Bryan Clay. Would be cool if he made it to SASUKE.

Thanks Ube! Now we get to see if we manage to get it on this side of the pond. Never seen a Sportsman Number 1 event in it's entirety so I do hope we can see it!

I've never seen one outside of competitor profiles. I hope I get this to work live

The 12/20 - 1/8 issue of TV Pia (TVぴあ) has the following information: 1/3 18:30 - 20:54 宮崎大輔 (Miyazaki Daisuke) ブリアン (Bryan Clay) 松永共広 (Matsunaga Tomohiro, the silver medal wrestler) MLBのシェーン (Shane Victorino of the Philadelphia Phillies?) 森本ひちょり (Morimoto Hichori, Nippon Ham Fighters baseball team) 三沢光晴 (Mitsuharu Misawa, pro wrestler) 玉田 圭司 (Tamada Keiji, soccer player)
If it's Shane Victorino (and it would make sense, they usually pick a speedster from MLB) that would make two people from Hawaii, along with Bryan Clay. Mitsuharu Misawa!?!?!?!? The guy was a phenomenal wrestler but from all accounts, his body is all beat up at this point.
More info as it comes in.

Wow, that sounds like an awesome lineup so far. Do you think we can expect any other regulars like Naoki Iketani?

Not sure about Iketani. I'd assume that since Wakky is still the geinojin sportsman no. 1 he'll be there. If they have slots to fill, perhaps Iketani will be there but they've always tried to limit the entertainer spots during the Pro Sportsman show.

Really! Shane Victorino? I never thought an MLB player would be involved in something like this. That is interesting.

I'm not sure if it will be Shane Victorino or not, it's just an educated guess.
There is one MLB player each year. A partial list: Rajai Davis (2008) Scott Podsednik (2005) Dave Roberts (2003) Mike Cameron (2002)

I'm really excited in this being the first Sportsman #1 event I get (I HOPE) to see! This of course being the main event (as opposed to the celebrity one that I kept mixing up with the pro one..) I knew they had all kinds of people involved from all different sports.

Victorino would definitely be a notable name considering he's with the World Series champs right now. Of course, there are plenty of other MLB players with Japanese ties. Hell, some of them already competed...and a couple even won the damn thing.
It's a shame there are no throw-for-distance events, because I would quinella Victorino and Clay for every single one.
(I'd also favor Victorino for Shotgun Touch, et al)

Does anyone have a list (even partial) of the winners of Sportsman? I keep getting the celebrity one mixed up but for the sake of this one.. I know Paul ANTHONY Terek won one.. Daisuke Miyazaki won 2 (including the last one).
