The Slider Jump wasn't the only controversial thing about Makoto Nagano in SASUKE 23.
After Nagano cleared stage 1 on a retry, announcer Wataru Ogasawara called Nagano "Mr. SASUKE."
Has the title really been passed? Or was it a verbal error on Ogasawara's part.

Yamada haters are dumb Nagano has had times where he seemed like he didn't care/make a reaction when top competitors failed because they were trying to psyche themselve out before a run. I think this is the main reason people bash on Yamada that and he doesn't have a "real" job. I know people who work part time for most of their life and have a happy and life. I think he is just very misunderstood. That and those who are bashing on him have self confidence issues and are taking it out on him.... sure wish he was there for 25... if he passed the Sori Tatsu Kabe I'm sure he would have ended his "streak"

I have to agree with Jp, Yamada has deteriorated into a SASUKE junkie, GET A JOB YAMADA!
I can admire his determination but if I had to chose between a boring office job or living Yamada's life, I would pick the job in a heartbeat.

Actually he didn't quit.. he was fired from the same job.. twice.. (his wife's family owns the metal working company.. that's the job he got fired from)  He does sell beer at baseball games every now and then but it's his wife's family that's keeping them afloat these days since he doesn't have a steady income. |

No... that actually happened. That part is true. He was a bit obsessed with the show (especially when he got to the final and failed) and he ramped up his training in his front yard and kept adding more obstacles and failing even more. The only people that ever supported him was his youngest son and his parents. That's.. pretty much it. His wife and daughter want no part of it which is why you never see them on videos anymore. Personally I would have kicked him to the curb.. they seem to be a bit more tolerant over there in Japan.. LOL |

Lmfao poor Yamada. He got sucked into the glory, and now 10 years of his life is gone. If there's ONE positive about Sasuke, its that it may give Yamada his life back.

I see it differently  He has not life to get back. One of the reasons why I find it hard to like the guy. What I find funny now with the new Facebook pages though.. is that the are now trying to spin Nagano's marriage before Asami to the exact same thing.. I would be pissed at M9 if that was written about me.. I doubt he even knows that they blamed his divorce to Nagano picking Sasuke over his family. Only one person has done that and that's Yamada and his wife is still married to him. |

well all this is true, but when you think about it his life was put under a microscope after his "fame" I bet you all have something you are ashamed of and never want to get out. It's not like he's never worked a day in his life... you have to give him that. at least he isn't some geek of the street begging for money. well, now that I have heard the metal worker part where he got fired from his job by his wife's family.... that puts him a little in the negative for me... but still you can't judge someone just by what you have seen on tv.. I'm actually grateful to Yamada, Nagano and crew, as if it were not for this show, I would probably not be as fit as I am today.. and I am sure other people feel that way.. make fun of him if you will, I would just like to see you do it to his face if you have even the slightest chance of gettiing to SASUKE ...

Feel free to love him or hate him. I have a right to my own opinion based on the same information. Have fun with it. And yes whatever I would say I would to his face. I'm that type of person. Exactly what you see is exactly what you get regardless of internet "anonymity".

I still like Yamada, but he'll need a full-time job to properly support his life.
On a dual-note, it'll give him the funds to improve his practice course in my opinion.
