Okay, Kunoichi is pretty much dead, but there is a small hope of light, Sasuke needs some high ratings ASAP if we want a chance of Kunoichi coming back, Kunoichi 8 was an experiment on Higuchi's part and it failed, if Sasuke gets high ratings, they might bring back the original Kunoichi and probably change it for its own Kanzen Renewal.
Tell me if you think that if Sasuke's ratings go up, Kunoichi could be revived.

Hmm, surprised anyone would start this thread.
I've already started trying to contact M9 at the moment to see if I can get information on a future KUNOICHI date. In an e-mail I sent I told them that if they went back to the old format they could possibly boost the ratings. Only problem is right now I'm trying to make sure I have the correct e-mail, but I'll post some more details once I get a response from someone.

I would love to see a new Kunoichi, but I simply don't think there will be one as long as Sasuke's rankings stay as they are right now. If Sasuke picks up, I believe it's a possibility. But soon? I'm not thinking so.

Still no response (Though I have no idea how long it'll take to get one) , which makes Jfeathe's statement seem all the more plausible. Problem is, while SASUKE's ratings have been going down for quite sometime, they never really got to be this bad until recently. At the start of Shin-Sasuke they had a 17.5% rating. SASUKE 25 had a 7.0%. Since SASUKE 23 they've been on the decline big time. The sticking point with KUNOICHI is that it reels in pretty solid ratings considering it's SASUKE for women. We'll just have to wait and see, if I don't have a response by Wednesday I'll start back-pedaling and looking for another e-mail.

SASUKE's ratings have only been going down because of TBS splicing footage G4 style. SASUKE 16 only had a rating of 10% and it got another ten tournaments, yet KUNOICHI 7 had ratings of 12% and it took them two years to make the garbage that we hate. What's the logic in that?

Uhhhm... How would TBS changing the run order in the broadcast hurt ratings?... Most people wouldn't notice probably and besides that if people aren't watching how would they know about the run order?... do you listen to yourself when you talk?..

No, it's cause Japanese people are tired of watching another f**king obstacle course show, they'd rather watch Pirates of the Caribbean.

SASUKE 16 had a 14.
KUNOICHI at it's highest was only barely above the SASUKE rating average. The only time it ever beat a SASUKE outright when they were during roughly the same time period was KUNOICHI 6 versus SASUKE 17 in 2006. In retrospect, I'm sure more people would have watched 17 if they had more of a clue as to what was going to happen.
8 was clearly an attempt to reel in a different type of audience along with the usual M9 core viewers but apparently alienated some (or in the case of this forum, everyone except me apparently). It was an honest attempt to revive a then-dead show. Ratings were in a decline to begin with during a time when TBS was only sort of falling in the ratings. And that was with the "old" format.
Furthermore, because there was never another attempt at the "new" format, we never got to see them tweak it or see how it would play out with audiences in the long run.
Part of the reason people here didn't like it was because it came with the KUNOICHI name and along with that, certain expectations. Had it had a different name, it's possible that people would have been more receptive to it. Just because this forum doesn't like something doesn't mean it can't be successful.

Sasukepedia says otherwise, SASUKE 16 only had 10.6% as its rating.
And yet, if the producers had just toned down 7 for 8, we'd be seeing commercials for KUNOICHI 10 right about now.

Half of the reason KUNOICHI was not brought back sooner was due to the Muscle Musical split. KUNOICHI was never as stable as SASUKE competitor wise. Many of the great KUNOICHI competitors were Muscle Musical members. When that group broke away, and Ayako Miyake was a part of it, the producers gave up on the show. Hell I'm pretty confident it was brought back for 8 only because of the e-mails that we had been sending them. Even if 8 had aired in it's previous format, I'm not sure we'd be up to 10 right. now.

8 is a toned down version of 7, but not as easy as KUNOICHI 4, 5, and 6. And I cannot see how SASUKE 16 could get ratings like that, well, actually I can but how could KUNOICHI 7's ratings tank that badly?

(17.5%) As I said before, considering it is Female SASUKE, and has never been as popular, the 12.7% KUNOICHI 7 received wasn't that bad. KUNOICHI's worst rating was the new re-imagined version we call KUNOICHI 8 at 9.5%.

Kinniku Banzuke was the backbone of SASUKE, KUNOICHI, and Sportsman. It brought in most of the cash, with its death, it was only a matter of time before these shows died, KUNOICHI can only be built when SASUKE has high ratings, which at the moment, it doesn't.

I wouldn't say Banzuke was the backbone of SASUKE and KUNOICHI. Banzuke has been gone for nearly ten years. A "matter of time" would mean that those shows would have died a few years after the one that spawned them. KUNOICHI was barely getting started when Banzuke got canceled. One of the biggest problems with ratings in both SASUKE and KUNOICHI is the amount of time they've been around. Many people forget that SASUKE was conceived in 1997, KUNOICHI in 2001, and Sportsman in 1995 IIRC. (Might have been 1996) The average lifespan of a successful television show is about ten years. Based on that statistic, KUNOICHI should be wrapping up, and SASUKE should have been done a while ago. The fact one, or even both is even still in the discussion to be aired is almost a miracle in itself. Either way, if we really want to see KUNOICHI again, we're going to need to start sending e-mail's to Monster 9 to show that there is still demand for the show. If anyone has a direct e-mail to Monster 9 that they will respond to, that will help in this cause. I sent an e-mail to the address listed on the Facebook pages about the status of KUNOICHI, I'm pretty confident that if anyone was going to respond to it, they would have done so by now.

I have to agree with this statement a lot. I kept saying in chat that if it had another name I would have liked it better. It's like if they did that with Sasuke now that the ratings suck for that show. You have a certain expectation and was let down given that they wanted a guaranteed champion in the worse way.. especially with the chairs at the end of stage 3. I wouldn't mind seeing another show.. hell.. I loved Viking minus the stupid do-rags on their heads .. LOL

VIKING was amazing, by the way, the Brain Ship Stage was based on the Brain Panic event from Banzuke.
KUNOICHI is a wonderful competition, look on the proposed KUNOICHI 9 courses, I love KUNOICHI, but I hated the fact that Miyake won three times in a row, it took the producers almost three years to re-pull a difficult course and then they killed that, I'm going to take a page from arsenette's book and say that KUNOICHI's ratings haven't been high because of poor advertising.

I said it once, I'll say it again. If they want high ratings for Kunoichi, they need that one special ingredient. J-E-L-L-O!

Jello will NOT solve KUNOICHI's probelms, in fact, it won't change anything, Jello is tasty, but it will not help KUNOICHI.
