I personally think he shouldn't keep getting #99 but I'm not sure if anyone else should. Maybe Enchi/En Zhi (how do you spell his name?).
What number do think he should have?
What number do you think he will be?

I think he should be #100, but he is getting #99 since Yuuji is the grand champion. Also, Yuuji fell on the Half-pipe Attack while Nagano fell on the Jumping Spider, so it is a strong possibility he will have #99.

He's going to be #99 for a long time (that is, if the show continues past sasuke 27), simply because he's nagano. Its like Yamada. He wouldnt keep getting high numbers if he wasnt Yamada

Keep in mind popularity is just as much a factor as performance is in determining the numbers. Hence why he'll get 99 for a long time.
Note: This is the official Jordan Jovchev post.

He'll probably have #99 in 27 on unless he has a very spectacular performance. For example, if in 27 he's the last man standing as a result of being the first/only person to clear the UCH or something like that, then he'll get back #100 in the next tournament.
Although it's gonna probably depend mostly on how well Nagano and Yuuji do, I could even see them switching off the top 2 spots pretty often (as long as they both at least do decently in the future by clearing at least Stage 1), considering Sasuke gets that far.

Uhhm, with that situation he'd still be #99 in 27, Doing well in 27 wouldn't make him #100 in 27, 28 maybe but not 27 But yeah, I'm thinking the 99 Nagano and 100 Yuuji is going to stay for a while since Yuuji is the newer champ and has done better than Nagano in 25 and to a degree 26

Also, suppose by some bizarre chance they both struggle getting past Stage 1 for a while when several others consistently get to at least Stage 2. Does anyone think we'd see anyone else as #99 or #100 in a few tournaments (that is, if the show holds up until then) or would Nagano and Yuuji keep them simply because of popularity and being former champions?

Nagano would probably want a lower number (Yuuji sure as hell does)

The only reason I think they would be hesitant about giving Li #99 is because he's not domestic... sure they've done this before with Levi but Okuyama got pretty much just as far and he's from Japan. So if anyone's knocking Nagano down, I think it's Okuyama. Unless TBS catches wind of Li's new SASUKE training center. They love it when people show such dedication and loyalty. Maybe then Li will get promoted.

If both Yuuji and Nagano fail Stage 1 AND a guy comes in and beats the UCH (then makes a deep run into the Third) I could see that person being #99 in 28.

I say 99, I don't see him being moved down any time soon.

The only way Nagano will get moved down from 99 is if he persistently requests to be moved down.

Hey, he persistently requested to be moved down from #100. The only reason it happened is because Yuuji became the champion. Had that not happened Nagano would still be #100.

I'm gonna go with 97. I think Yuuji, Lee and Okuyama will be ahead of him. I just reckon they'll do something a bit different.
