What part of widening the wheel do you not get? OK.... If the wheel is wider, it takes longer to complete a full rotation, therefore you get less turns, and since a circle is slowest in the centre, the obstable is now easier Furthermore, by increasing the size of the wheel, you increase it's mass, increasing it's inertia, which means it accelerates slower. This isn't speculation, it's Newton's first law of motion.

I meant the part of the wheel surrounding the handholds, this is so that it doesn't fall off the track.

Enlarging the mass is going to slow it down.... especially since the obstacle is lopsided already.

Oh, okay. Do you think it'll stay for 27? I really want to see it under a blue sky.

Dunno. That's one of the predictions. I personally don't like it but won't utterly flip out if I see it again I don't obsess so much over the obstacles. I care about the competitors and what they are wearing ahahahahahha

It DOES belong in SASUKE, if you ask me.

It's the best obstacle since Yuuji's win, that's for damn sure.

It's as fitting as the rolling log. It deserves to stay

I just don't like how it doesn't really measure athleticism and how it is mostly luck. I say get rid of it.

I just don't like how it doesn't really measure athleticism and how it is mostly luck. I say get rid of it. It's not mostly luck at all. It takes technique, strength, endurance, etc. The only problem is... it's too hard for a stage 1 obstacle, let alone the THIRD obstacle. However saying it's luck based is just wrong. That's like saying rock climbing is luck based.

When the rolling log first appeared and took out all those competitors, I'm SURE people were saying the same. It will probably be like the rolling log at the end of the day.

What I meant to say was that although it does involve those things you mentioned, there is probably too much luck involved on top of that that comes from the foot wedges, the lack of control of the rotation and translation speed, etc.

Considering a lot of people were hoping for another course re-design similar to SASUKE 18 in SASUKE 25 and that didn't arise. (At least for the 1st stage) I honestly think it's a nice fit. Sure it's pretty difficult for the 3rd obstacle. But half of the reason I like it there is because it's a log. I'm sure some of you will find that a silly reason, but typically the log obstacles are 2nd or 3rd on the course. I think it should stay for at least two or three more tournaments, and if things don't change then it should probably go. But for now, I think it's fine, just give it time like the other obstacles.
As for Cole's thoughts on luck, I'm not sure. I'm not sure the things you mentioned really make it luck based, because with the foot wedges, that's the own competitors fault if they can't keep them locked in the wedges. As for lack of control of rotation and speed. That's suppose to be the same for everybody. So even if luck is a factor it's the same for everyone. It's very similar to the Rolling Log. I just can't quite see it as "Luck Based".

Again, I think the thing that killed so many top flight competitors was the fact that it was new and because it's one of those "one size fits all" obstacles it responded to everyone a little bit differently. Any advice that people gave to each other might have actually hurt, say if Kanno gave Kong advice- they're two quite different body types.

About the log thing, it's actually more of a snail thing. And if we DO get used to it, it'll stick on the course for a long time and get a sandan upgrade, just saying.
The Rolling Escargot is pretty creative considering the drained minds of the producers, maybe they got someone totally new?
