Yeah, I don't know if I want to believe that. I don't think I will believe it till I hear it from Nintendo directly. But that would suck if that's the case.

If it's true I understand why, but I do disagree with it.

If it's true I understand why, but I do disagree with it. Give me a good reason why. Not that there isn't one, I just wanna know why they might make this move. I don't see why they would do that honestly. I'd prefer the option be available even if it's expensive.

I don't know why they would only allow only one controller. Economically, it would make sense that they would try to sell multiple controllers since they definitely look expensive.

I don't see why they would do that honestly. I'd prefer the option be available even if it's expensive. Since Wii U looks like it's in 1080P and the console streams video right into the controller (which I assume would be at a pretty good-looking resolution itself), it may not have the capabilities to do it for multiple controllers at once so instead of just having too many controllers collect dust in stores or in warehouses, they'll do this. Not going to please many if any, but most logical thing I can think of at the moment.

Ah that's true, but sad if it's true.
I've been reading the resolution on the controller doesn't look any worse than the one on the HD tv's they had, so it should be very pretty (if not prettier than on some tvs).

Who knows, we have a year so we'll know later on. But considering games like Madden, NBA, MLB, and the like would hope to use the controller to place playcalling and such which in turn would lead to prettier graphics and smoother gameplay, multiple Wii U controllers seem necessary.

Nah they said multiple controllers work in tandem with each other.. but that could also mean that you need multiple systems.. if that's the case.. they have a big problem on their hands.. we'll have to wait and see.
For those with 3DS' how's the free downloaded stuff?

For those with 3DS' how's the free downloaded stuff? Pokedex is weird and Excitebike is well...Excitebike, so it's pretty good. It's nice being able to watch the new trailers in 3D as well.

Oh yeah, I'm a big Pokemon fan. So I would love see how the Pokedex is. Sadly, I don't have enough money to buy a 3DS.

My top games I'm excited for
1. Dark Souls 2. Skyrim 3. The Last Guardian 4. Final Fantasy Versus 13 5. Asura's Wrath
6. Devil May Cry 5 7. Ninja Gaiden 3
Two series that I like but I'm not sure if these sequels will be up to snuff.

For those with 3DS' how's the free downloaded stuff? Well, the internet browser is probably as good as it could be (which is still pretty bad). It loads reasonably fast and it's pretty easy to navigate. Of course, no flash and a small screen really make it useless. Maybe Nintendo will develop special 3D websites or something for it? The EShop is, of course, extremely limited right now. Excitebike was pretty cool (then again, I'm still at the phase with my 3DS where anything 3D is amazing.) I'm really hoping they come out with a ton of Game Boy games. The Virtual Console games seem a bit expensive ($3-4 for Game Boy; $6 for Game Boy Color), but I'll get one if I really want it. I set my system to automatically load free titles, and it downloaded the Pokedex 3D (which I didn't want) overnight while in sleep mode.

Well of course they were the 360 and ps3 versions. The system isn't even going to launch this year. Developers are just now starting to make games for it.
Basically this comes as no surprise to me.

Yeah, the only ones who would care are the people who think Nintendo is akin to the devil.

Incoming longer than intended Nintendo rant:
Honestly though, I've never been huge on Nintendo. I never owned a NES or SNES when I was young. I only got an n64 really late into its life span and far after I got a PS1, so it wasn't all that exciting to me.
My gamecube never got touched because 90% of my attention was on my PS2, and 9% of my attention was on my xbox.
The Wii was really cool when it first came out. I had fun with it for maybe a week, then it just got boring playing Wii sports all the time.
However, I'll acknowledge that nintendo is always 1 step ahead of everyone else. I am legitimately excited for this new console more-so than I ever was for the Wii or Gamecube. I can really see some cool possibilities with this.
While in terms of graphics and such it's not "next gen" it's more playing catchup to the ps3 and the 360. The new controller will be really revolutionary.
I think the PS3/Xbox360 were a few years ahead of their time. They had to sell their consoles at losses for years. Nintendo stayed in the back doing what they do best. They sold the Wii for a profit, sold the most systems, and got a ton of money from software sales as well.
Now they are developing a second console. It'll match the ps3 and 360 in terms of strength, but since they waited they will not be selling this new system at a loss like the other two. Now they get twice as much money since they developed 2 consoles in the same time-frame that the other companies developed one, and they will both sell like hotcakes.
It's kinda like a chess game, where Nintendo is the grandmaster and the other 2 companies are hardly veterans. It's like they're always 20 moves ahead.
So basically while I havn't really enjoyed my nintendo consoles much, Nintendo over-all has been a very very smart company in the last 5 years.
Hopefully this will turn into my favorite nintendo console. Hopefully this'll be a system that everyone likes and everyone can applaud Nintendo for. Maybe it'll be their best since the SNES.

They're dead serious on having a console that can be simple enough for the casual gamer, but still retain a lineup of games the "hardcore" market will like. Add in the fact it'll be a couple years before Sony/Microsoft even announce they have a successor, we may see sales be even more unattainable for 360/"720" and PS3/"PS4" to even sniff. Then again, 360 had a head start as well and that fizzled after a while.

I'm hoping it's hardcore enough. The controller to me looked clunky, but a huge step up from the wii.
But I've heard it's very light and comfy.
Then again... if only 1 person gets to use it and the other 4 have to use wii-motes.... that's a problem.
