Well they have one guaranteed spot so I assume they will run it in such a way that there is a winner.

So to win the 5-17 Final Stage has to be finished? I assume since they have to have a winner it'd be "ANW Style" and untimed and best time wins?

Well it's being determined that 1 will definitely go. TBS is going also to the event so who knows.. if they deem necessary they might get more than one spot It's not like there's no precedent for it.

Is it Opposite Day? Too bad I'm not taking part. Putrajaya is like a 5 hour drive from where I live, and I'm just 15.

I did email him though just in case the news changes everything. That and the fact that the Million youth rally is at the exact same time. That's run by the government .. so maybe he can convince his parents that it's educational?

I knew he said before he wouldn't tryout, but maybe Nagano coming changes things? That is a pretty special event.

And like infer said earlier in the thread, it's a five hour drive from where he lives. Don't push him. Since it's part of a bigger event, I'm sure that there will be some coverage of it in the mainstream Malay media.

Whoot. Talked to the guy that wrote the blog (cool guy btw) and he says that they plan to have some sort of series that will be broadcasted in local Malaysian TV. He will see if he can record it and get it on Youtube for us

There will also be a prize other than the trip to SASUKE 27 which will be given by our prime minister. I think it's RM 20,000 (about $6,597).
