I think I've made it clear that I respect everyone's opinion here, and I feel comfortable giving my own. I personally like that at least some form of Ninja Warrior will be shown to a huge audience. Showing the entire competition would be preferable (and I think actually more successful), but any amount is great. We could argue about prize money, but the truth is that no competition show that airs on a huge network can get by without having an enormous grand prize- it's our culture. Definitely agree with all of that. They say that only the Finals from ANW (ie Americans in 27 will be shown) but I'd wonder if they would expand it to the Japanese competitors if the Americans completely tank in 27. Say all 10 fail in stage 1 or no American makes it to Stage 3, I could see them opening up the competitor pool to the Japanese to make it a more appealing show to an audience. This is essentially G4's big coming out party to promote ANW, yet I can't see them just sticking with the Americans if they don't do well. I know they are saying only Americans now, but that is banking on the Americans doing very well which as we know, is never guaranteed. You both seem to be forgetting Sasuke 23..

Nope didn't forget it and plus, Levi made it to Stage 3 so at least you got to see three of the stages. That is at least interesting. Watching 10 guys fail a first stage is not though. Honestly, I don't care what G4 has shown in the past because this is NBC's show now. I REALLY doubt that they will just show 10 guys failing the First Stage and call it a day. Yes their first objective is to promote the ANW brand, and second to promote their version of the show. IF the Americans tank, and they just show that, then that means a pretty awful show, and thus no more seasons of it on NBC. Yes I know what they've done in the past but still it would be interesting if that situation did happen.

Doubt they'd tank with the training the get out of ANW and the selection process.

Doubt they'd tank with the training the get out of ANW and the selection process. It's a toss up even the competitors can tell you that. That's what makes Sasuke exciting. I for one do NOT want them to mess up. I was happy with the results of the Americans in 26. I just don't see NBC reinserting the Japanese because the Americans screwed up. They will fill that time with wtf they want rather than go that direction. Would not serve their purpose for doing what they are doing. See the difference?

I think people are overestimating NBC's role in all of this. ANW is still a G4 show. That they are showing it on NBC is, as Variety says, "a move of corporate synergy."
This is much like if the WWE (whose main networks, SyFy and the USA Network are under the same umbrella) has a special on NBC again like the Tribute to the Troops they had last year. The content was created and controlled by the WWE. NBC simply gave them a slot to air it.
In fact, the Tribute to the Troops on NBC was a truncated version. The full show was on USA. Most of ANW will be on G4. The Japan part will be on NBC. That will probably be the extent of it.

Oh, and since ANW 3 will be made by G4, I highly doubt that they will change things from the way they did ANW 2. So yes, they will probably focus only on the Americans in some way shape or form.
The only way I can see them changing things up is if a non-American finishes the course.

Gotta love this part: Winning bidder will be responsible for his or her own travel and accommodations.

Well the winning bid will probably be from someone who has enough money for that not to be an issue.

Giving that some nutter paid over 2K for a TF2 hat, I predict at least $10,000

Anyone want to take a guess on the range of cash the highest bid will actually be? I'd say around $10,000. Rich people like Ninja Warrior too.

sasukemaniac.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=s27&thread=3463&page=1Made a separate topic for that so we don't get too side tracked. Hope you don't mind Anyway, the whole eBay spot is brilliant in my mind. What better way to raise money for the Japanese? Brilliant call, G4. *washes out mouth* Here's my REAL question, though: Will the $500,000 endorsement deal only be given out if we have a kanzenseiha (similar to the $250,000 prize last time) or is it just who goes the furthest?

I assume it is Kanzenseiha again. I'm pretty sure the company doesn't really want to dish out that endorsement that much.

Furthest American Kanzenseiha (provided there are multiples). Sucks no one else can get this.. will be embarrassing though when they do win it and the American's don't. Not that they (sponsors) care.

Even still, if this is the last SASUKE we still can't count on a kanzenseiha.

The last thing I'd wanna see for the possibly final SASUKE is a repeat of 19. If it airs on NBC then more people would know what it is and boom more people will create accounts here.
