Ok this is pretty wild. It looks like comcast sees the results from G4 airing ninja warrior (which you gotta admit are spectacular considering that it is G4 we are talking about) and a switching networks in order to get a larger audience and get more out of the show? And if Sasuke 27 is taped in late June and aired in the fall then it is possible comcast took first air rights as well.
EDIT: If comcast is throwing money at TBS for Sasuke then I am pretty sure that Sasuke will not end so easily.

Historically TBS shows Sasuke within the first month of taping. 26 was an anomaly taking almost 2 months. Given that TBS always shows Sasuke on an off season (between prime drama season) there's reason to believe they will definitely air in it's entirety first. IF ANW airs before Sasuke 27 there's reason to believe they will spoil the Americans just as they did for ANW2 back in December where they showed it the week before the official TBS broadcast. As for NBC USA - tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2011/04/27/abc-moves-into-seasons-ratings-third-place-bumps-nbc-to-fourth/90762 They are now fourth ranked in the USA.

I really hope the broadcast is done somewhat better since it is on CBS. I really hope CBS can do minimal changes to the original broadcast.

THIS DOES NOT HELP SASUKE IN JAPAN. nothing that happens here in the USA have any bearing on Japanese ratings. PERIOD. The only thing that might happen is that they secure the license for an official spinoff we know as ANW.. or an NBC produced Sasuke-like show on NBC NOT produced by TBS Japan. For once I wish people would think a little before saying that USA television has a way of controlling Japan ratings.. think a little folks. I really hope the broadcast is done somewhat better since it is on CBS. I really hope CBS can do minimal changes to the original broadcast. wtf are you talking about.. CBS is not even part of the equation.

CBS is not even part of the equation. Oops brain fart. My bad. I meant NBC. Before when I meant throwing money at TBS, I am pretty sure that the amount of money would actually affect Sasuke in Japan. In the end it all comes down to just that, money, not ratings. The reason a show wants good ratings is to attract sponsors who would pay them. When deciding whether or not it is worth it to air a show, the station needs to add up all the numbers concerning money. If ratings are low, the money they will get will be low as well and vice versa. I am not saying that activity over here is going to affect the ratings in Japan, but it may affect whether or not it is worth it for TBS to contimue airing Sasuke. If comcast is throwing enough money at it, TBS may think it is worth it to continue producing Sasuke despite the recent low ratings. I am also not saying that Comcast is the only thing holding up Sasuke, I believe that this may have an effect. If Comcast is payng a significant amount of money, it will affect Sasuke's life in Japan, whether it is a significant effect or a small effect, it should have an effect. EDIT: I don't mean to start a fight over it and I am sorry if this sounds... abrasive in any way? This is just my view on it.

Does NBC air online anywhere? I'd like to see their version of Sasuke 27, even though I'll probably watch the original version when TBS airs it, but we turned off our satellite service a couple of months ago. It was getting too expensive. We now have a "Roku" hooked up to our TV, and we have Hulu and Netflix. We can also stream several channels through the Roku. If NBC can be streamed there I should get to see it, but if not I'd like to know if it airs anywhere online.

Thanks for the explanation but your logic is flawed. How a show survives in any country is based on advertising revenue based on the popularity of that show in that country (ultimately causing the advertisers to want to pay money to be exposed to the highest amount of potential consumers given THEM money). Ratings are a measure to show the popularity of said shows within that country. So yes.. Ratings are a must in the equation and no amount of money from Comcast will skew what happens in Japan. TBS right now is securing it's license with ANW and ensuring it's success by supporting it. Unlike what happened when NBC ripped off Takeshi's Castle without their permission and that's why they are in a lawsuit. Sasuke is going to be canceled due to it's lack of ratings.. not what kind of money Comcast can throw at TBS. It just doesn't work that way. TBS is also in a world of hurt since they are lowest ranked network channel in Japan even before the earthquake hit and they lost most of their advertisers (for the record everyone lost money in March, 2011.. even the top 3 in Japan) and they have been trying different things to change their lineup. They are pouring all of their money on another programming style and that's why they ditched anything with large production sets which included Tokyo Friend Park, Sportsman #1, Kunoichi and Sasuke. This converstation has been had for a while now - ever since the announcement was made back in January.

Most major networks do. Netflix will only have it if it's in a DVD format. Sasuke so far is not coming to DVD anytime soon so Netflix wouldn't have it. NBC is a network channel though.. if you have a TV you should be able to get a signal if you have a digital tuner to accept it. You don't need to pay for NBC to see it.

Ah, cool, thanks. So when NBC airs Sasuke 27 I'll be annoying my family again by commandeering the TV for a while, LOL.

Here's another article from Entertainment Weekly: insidetv.ew.com/2011/04/27/nbc-ninja-warrior/NBC to air G4's 'American Ninja Warrior' finale by James Hibberd G4′s cult favorite American Ninja Warrior is getting a huge platform boost thanks to NBC. The broadcast network will air a two-part season finale of the extreme obstacle course competition this fall after the show returns for its third season on G4 in August. The move represents the first major on-air commitment by NBC to spotlight a program on Comcast’s cable channel group since the companies merged earlier this year, and it’s quite cool that it’s Warrior that’s getting the exposure — the series long has been in the shadow of ABC’s comic version of the same concept, Wipeout. “Wipeout has its success, but American Ninja Warrior is a true competition to find a real athlete to conquer a course that has only been conquered by three people over 2,600 tries — that’s what makes this drama interesting,” G4 president Neal Tiles told EW. In the third season, the show will head to Japan and touts the biggest prize yet for the show, a $500,000 K-SWISS endorsement deal and marketing campaign. Also, G4 and the Tokyo Broadcasting System will auction off a chance for a fan to compete with the 10 finalists to benefit American Red Cross relief efforts in Japan. Production starts next month. “Warrior has really come a long way and nurtured its cult-like status, and this American Idol-like prize structure takes an amateur athlete and elevates them to professional status,” Tiles said. Even more interesting in that article:
"In the third season, the show will head to Japan and touts the biggest prize yet for the show, a $500,000 K-SWISS endorsement deal and marketing campaign. Also, G4 and the Tokyo Broadcasting System will auction off a chance for a fan to compete with the 10 finalists to benefit American Red Cross relief efforts in Japan"
So essentially, you can buy your way to Japan.

I knew G4, and those parent companies, wouldn't get involved if they didn't have something crazy in mind. I look forward to whatever it is they do as any continuation of anything sasuke related is awesome as far im concerned.

Okay so "Climax" of Sasuke 27, what they really mean is climax of ANW3, where the 11 American's compete at Sasuke 27...
.... Meh at the whole thing. Great, although more people know about Sasuke, it's in a lame a** way.

I'm not happy that ANW is being used to compete with Wipeout given that ANW is inferior to Sasuke in every way shape and form. As usual G4 is not at all interested in Sasuke.. it's ANW they are hawking. This just about proves Sasuke is done after 27 as the Japanese articles mentioned.
