Why do people hate the slider drop? Because 1 failed it in 25 and NO ONE failed it in 26.... and it isn't clever... they CAN make it hard and cool, but they choose to keep it boring, so they should get rid of it...

Why do people hate the slider drop? because it doesn't take that much skill to complete, while the downhill jump requires balance and some agility and the chain reaction is a large time waster. All I'm saying, it doesn't have a function.

It's simply to get you on the main course. That's a function enough in my book.

It launches you into stage 2. How is that boring? And the chain reaction had only 5 fails compared to over 100 clears

And both fails were flukes.

I have to side with some of the others, why does everyone hate the Slider Drop? People have this at the top of their replacement list.
It's fine right now, I'd much rather see people failing DSL, Unstable Bridge, and Balance Tank, than see everyone just fail the first obstacle, it's fine for now. Maybe in five or so tournaments they can replace it, but stage two is probably the most perfect stage out of the first three right now.

Neither of the fails were flukes. Part of the obstacle tests your balance. Both fails were caused because of a lack of balance. If the position of your body isn't foward, then you're basically screwed.

And the chain reaction had only 5 fails compared to over 100 clears Well I didn't really enjoy the Chain Reaction, but it had more of a visual "Holy s*** he could fail here" than with the Slider Drop. With the Downhill Jump, it was pretty exciting watching people jump to the rope, although I do wish the obstacle was more challenging. And I don't understand what you mean by "It launches you into stage 2. How is that boring?" I want to see obstacles where people can fail them. If I wanted to watch "WEEEEEE" obstacles, I'd watch Wipeout's final stage.

I never thought anyone could fail the CR though. You could probably take a nap on the 2nd chain and pass

The same reason you guys are saying the Chain Reaction and Downhill Jump suck are the same reasons the Slider Drop sucks...

Every single Stage 2 beginning obstacle placed you on the main course. Spider Walk gave you a long path, Chain Reaction was a playground trackline for adults, Downhill Jump let you do just that and jump while Slider Drop launches you. Each of them has hits and misses. All in all, only the Spider Walk got a significant # of failures and that got "promoted" to the main course. Some obstacles just don't need failures. Chain Reaction got five failures and Downhill Jump got two. I'm sure Slider Jump can survive with just one.

Why can't we have a "Launch" obstacle that's challenging and exciting?... That's all I want. You can disagree with me, but that's what I want, and the Slider Drop isn't challenging or exciting.

I have an obstacle called the Shadow Slider, it's basically a longer version of the Curtain Slider, but the curtain is black to fit the name and it slides down very fast, the track goes over the mat and keeps on going so that you have to time it just right. I think it would be a nice Slider Drop replacement don't you think?

I predict a lot of excuses around the forum after certain failures. =P

I did consider that. I made a modification for safety reasons, you need to go down a ramp, a hill, before you attempt the obstacle, think of a padded Downhill Jump Ramp with no kitchen tray.

So.. You want the competitors to stand on rollers before they grab a mix of an obstacle that injured enough people to get them to change it and an obstacle that malfunctioned frequently?....
