Don't put too much into the fact that the article pops up in different places. Entertainment articles have a way of moving around a lot. It was the same thing with the Ninja Warrior article in Japanese. It was on several different sites (the same sites we're seeing this article popping up on) but it was the exact same thing over and over. It didn't cause any new news.

I kept getting emails saying "oh it was written in Yada yada" but it was just a copy and paste. Even here in the USA they do that. That's industry standard. Nothing new has come up.. only the other articles about the other shows listed on that one article on the Women's magazine.

No they burned those bridges a long time ago. Besides they'd have to pay TBS for transfer rights since they held them for 13 years and own the library. What burning bridges anyways? I know Viking got canceled because of injuries but is there some story I don't know about Celebrity/Family Viking?. Also I think that RC wasn't implying moving Sasuke to Fuji, but Monster9 making a new franchise for Fuji that's like Sasuke (Granted we know Viking didn't work but still) Fuji already has G-Wars as a weekly show (which is not exactly a ratings monster) and Run for Money 逃走中 as a special (which does OK). I doubt they feel the need for another sports entertainment show.

Ummm... does anybody see the possibility that the translator could've been bad and it meant that Kimpachi Sensei was ending in March and NOT SASUKE? Seems like a possibility to me... No.

Regardless of when it ends, I just hope for a good ending. I realize that in the current Japanese climate, SASUKE is not going to get the ratings it used to. It's time to move on but I hope for the sake of all SASUKE fans who have followed the show for many years that they give us a proper finale. I question the March date for SASUKE 27 as that's like a month or so away but I could see a retrospective program I suppose. Who knows what TBS/M9 has planned but it's obvious that SASUKE won't last much longer...

Just stumbled upon this. This....is one of the saddest things I've heard in quite some time. So much for "forever", huh? (I knew it wouldn't be "forever", but didn't think it'd be so soon.) I is one unhappy man.

Shades of Iron Chef. With that program, there was one more special after it ended (and never aired here)--it was okay; and then there was the American version which shall not be named, and after that, the Food Network one which is still going. I hope G4 has taken good notes.

Oh boy, an Iron Chef question The show ended in September 1999, then they had the 2000 Battle, New York Battle, 21st Century Battle, and Japan Cup. (Possibly some other ones as well) That's all assuming you don't count Sakai and Morimoto on the crappy American pilot.

Not a question. I was a moderator of an IC forum. My point is that I see Sasuke going down the same path that IC did. I would be happy to bandy memories with you, but this is not the right place to do it.

I don't understand the Sasuke/ Iron Chef comparison. Iron Chef was a weekly series with a few specials after its run. Sasuke is nothing but specials.
Do you mean that Sasuke will decrease its frequency to something like once per year or once every two years?
And I still won't believe one way or the other until TBS or M9 says soomething officially.

Just read through the entire thread. This is interesting news. I was hoping to get to go after my 18th birthday in 2012 but I guess if the rumors are true that it won't happen. I guess this also ruins my dream of building a sasuke theme park/training park. lol. I guess it could still happen, just won't be as big. Off topic.. anyways it will be interesting to see if we do see 27 or it just ends at 26. Hopefully we hear from TBS and they say they won't cancel. But who knows. Anything can happen.

The Ultimate Cliffhanger must be beaten. It would be a travesty if it goes unbeaten and the show ends. I don't care if we don't see a kanzenseiha or even a final stage but that thing MUST be defeated.

If there was going to be an actual 27, it's getting pretty close to when we'd start hearing something about it, assuming its in mid-late March like usual.

Yeah... we'd just need someone like Lee who actually blogs about this stuff to say he got invited or something... I'd say we should hear something within the month.

I didn't get a confirmation from TBS or M9 but I did hear from Takasui. Nagano was asked today about the rumor and he thinks it's just that right now. He has not been notified about the end of Sasuke. Right now 27 is not scheduled but the rumors persisting about Sasuke ending seem to be just that.. Rumors. That's good news Nagano would be the first person told if it was done and he hasn't been told jack about it. I feel much better this morning

That's good news. I think you're right; M9 "accidentally" leaked the rumor that Sasuke might end to see what the reaction to that would be in Japan. We foreigners would like to see more Sasuke tournaments, but M9 doesn't count us, do they? They only count the people in Japan. I hope the people in Japan want to see more Sasuke.
