So this afternoon I was having a conversation with Adam Truesdale on facebook. I asked him a few questions about a variety of obstacles and he replied with some cool answers. Apparently the rolling escargot is easier than it looks and is as simple as a cartwheel. The Half Pipe Attack's rope is much thicker than it appears making it easier to grasp. And the Giant Swing's intimidation makes it look much harder than it is on screen. What really caught my eye was my question to his technique on the Warped Wall. He said he would have had it the first time if he started from the flat since he felt that the momentum gained from starting at the top just causes you to trip when you run at the curve on the wall. He also stated the warped wall was shorter in height. I don't know how he would know this first hand granted he has only faced the warped wall once, but still seems legit. Looking back, it seems right at the tip of the wall was shortened at the tip. I guess the designers took off one of the blocks that are usually taken off for competitors under 18 and over 50? I don't know, but it does look different. Any thoughts? PS: Adam began bragging about him now being able to walk up the warped wall if he wanted. So I bet him to simply walk up the wall in tryouts without any run start. I mean he's only 5'7... He said if he failed walking up it, he'd give "Matt from facebook" a shout out. Haha, maybe he's serious.

He won't put his chances of winning $250,000 on the line by walking up the warped wall..... GL to him at the next tryout. So many parkour guys showing up, the prelims may have like 25+ parkour specialists reach the semis.

I don't think it's as much as they lowered it in 26 as much as he was used to the one from ANW2 which seemed to be higher than the real thing (I guess to compensate that americans are taller on average?)

I'm pretty sure the ANW Warped Wall is taller than Sasuke's. I seem to remember Sasuke's coming to about 13 feet while ANW's was 14, but I could be wrong.
I also think momentum helps (if you can control it), but that's just me.

I would have to assume it trips him up because he isn't used to it. Also, if you didn't use the beginning curve, the run up space is more limited.

Neither Warped Wall is that tall. David confirmed that Sasuke's seems to be only about 13 feet (the extra height comes from the platform it sits on, which doesn't count), so he built his at 14 feet. I remember hearing somewhere that the ANW Warped Wall was 14 feet as well, but I could be mistaken.
As far as I know, I have the highest Warped Wall at just over 15 feet.

The Soritatsu Kabe at Sasuke is 5 meters, BUT a bit of that height comes from the base.. I know G4 reversed the pic but this demonstrates it well

Three meters isn't even 10 feet. I want to say that's a little off.

For some reason I remember the announcer saying it was around 5 meters. 5 meters in 16.5 feet which sounds right taking the height from the geound to the top.
The actual height you have to scale looks to be about 4 meters or 13 feet.

Do they even bother taking off the top part of the warped wall anymore for older/younger competitors when the chances of them getting there are very slim?

That's why they usually group the children, older, and female competitors together so that they don't have to constantly take it off and on again.

Sasuke = 13', ANW = 14', Boot Camp = 15'. The big factor is how steep the runup is. ANW style Warped Wall isn't very steep at all, where as Sasuke's incline is much sharper. Hope this clears things up!

Ah, thanks for that confirmation. I always thought the ANW warped wall was shorter due to its appearance on the good old 60 INCH.

I wasn't being sarcastic. Games on that TV would be awesome.
