Just a note:
The Midoriyama Studio lot is in Group 5 of the TEPCO rolling blackout scheme. They haven't been implementing the blackouts but there is a lot of concern about the use of electricity during the summer months.
MTB (the group that holds bicycle races) has already postponed their spring festival there which was to be held in April.
Pro baseball teams in the area have already said that at least during April they will not be playing night games or in domes in the Tokyo/Tohoku area.

While that is news for us, somehow I doubt they're planning a Sasuke at this time.. I mean I'm not saying 27 isn't happening.. I'm just saying this isn't the best time to do one... Thanks for letting us know

Thanks for the update. I've been watching where the blackouts are and it's friggin' confusing when you check where certain districts lie... heck.. some places get hit twice.. LOL I hope they figure out a way to fix this to avoid blackouts in the future.. this is certainly changing the working standards for all types of companies including TV stations.

I'd imagine it's after the spring festival.

I'd imagine it's after the spring festival. Huh? Are you failing to grasp the severity of which things have been thrown into flux? or are you projecting your hope for Sasuke so much that you fail to see what's happening?

I'm saying it'd be after the biking competition Ube mentioned if we're implying it's going to happen. Sasuke happened after that in the past, IIRC. So if that is normally held in April and it's been postponed, it will be awhile til our next Sasuke. That's my point.

Agreed but there are bigger issues atm. The entire schedule has been fubarred so anything that was going to happen is now thrown into flux. His statement in general is basically showing the chaos it's thrown in given the rolling blackouts that up to this point can go on well into the summer iirc.

See you don't understand how earthquakes work do you bada?... Are you just hoping for Sasuke to happen now so stage 3 is beaten since the ledges would start coming to the competitor on the UCH?...

1) In my post I wasn't implying that a show was going to happen soon. It was just a comment on the present situation.
2) Airdate-wise, the latest a spring SASUKE has happened is April 6. The one summer SASUKE was in July but as I stated before, TEPCO and the Kanto area are worried about the electricity consumption during the summer months. I doubt residents will be happy to see a giant metal structure with flashing lights if they are being forced to turn off their air conditioners to conserve electricity.
3) Most of the TV schedules are behind due to earthquake coverage and the rest of the spring schedule is pretty much set.
4) TV Asahi has reported a loss in revenue in the millions of dollars since they did not air commercials. I'd presume that TBS is in the same situation.

Bada cares about a meaningless TV show, and doesn't care about the thousands that died in Japan. He is a bad person. Ban him, and let me be his replacement on SMF Big Brother

Thanks Ube. The current situation is just nuts.. and that's not even including the TV Stations. It's nice you took the time to try to catch us up on that. Right now it's been difficult to conduct any kind of business with the rolling black outs. Especially since they happen in seemingly random times sometimes..
As for the commercial revenue loss.. Been hearing that as well (in addition to the AC commercials that ran during that time that everyone started making remixes of.. LOL). TBS was already in the financial hole well before the quake.. this could not have helped. Either way I don't see anything going on with real significance for another couple months on TBS. For once they are in the same predicament as the other stations.. kinda in chaos.. but in the meantime.. TBS has major issues since their network was in the red before the quake.
Agreed I don't see Sasuke happening this year. I think once the power situation gets resolved and they are allowed excess consumption again they might consider it.. but given how this affects even the everyday lives of citizens in East Japan.. I agree that it wouldn't be feasible to put up a Sasuke atm.

Yes Rider fail Either way hopefully things calm down that people can start getting their lives back to normal. Which of course would include programming, etc. that we enjoy. Thanks Ube again and if there is any other news please continue to let us know. It's a bit difficult getting information these days given that most of the focus is on the nuclear reactors.

To those involved in this debate...
Do remember that this is a Sasuke forum.. so it would make sense that Sasuke would come up in this and other similar discussions.
I've been seeing to many posts lately where someone will mention or ask about Sasuke in a thread like this and get blasted and called insensative. I personally don't see how involving the topic that this forum was made to discuss is wrong, but thats just me.
I'm not going to say don't debate things or don't state your opinions, let's just try to be a little more respectful of each other.
Thank you.

I was making a joke that you think you want a sasuke during the earthquake due to damages making the course easier than they meant it to be... very bad taste it was just a joke about your insensitivity..

Not gonna argue with you Rider, but if you intend to make a joke make it more obvious. Too hard to gauge intentions through simple text. Use of smilies could prevent that.

I fail to see how we're insensitive just because we don't write "OMG we'll pray for u Japan" in every post. As far as I'm concerned, I have NO connections to Japan other than Sasuke, so that's pretty much my main concern.
Take it as you will. I couldn't care less.

Like sheep said, this is a Sasuke forum, and like Oti said, most people's only connection to Japan is Sasuke.
I think we all know the situation in Japan is bad and many aspects of life there has been turned upside down. These electricity blackouts are huge inconveniences and I honestly can't see any tv station airing anything other than news and reruns for quite a while.

Except that Japan doesn't do reruns in primetime like the US does. They are already putting out new programming. TV Tokyo started airing part of its regular schedule the Monday after the earthquake. Many Spring specials had already been filmed and are now being aired. The only thing that hasn't gone back to normal is the airing of commercials which is what caused TV Asahi to lose money.
The point of the blackouts is to try to make sure that the urban part of Tokyo (where the TV studios are located) stays active during business hours. The blackout groups are mainly concentrated in the residential areas.

Sasuke of course falls in a different category since it's filmed on location and the location takes almost 2 weeks to set up. A lot of the shows now especially on TBS are not as elaborate. What most are airing now is content that a) was already taped or b) doesn't require much budget to produce. Sasuke doesn't fall in either of those categories which is why it's important to discuss the power consumption issues since Ube nailed it by mentioning that people would be pissed of something that elaborate would come out of the TBS lot when THEY have to conserve energy until the crisis is over.
