Is there a specific reason a warning level should appear under someone's name? If I wanted to find out more about a particular user, I'd visit her/his profile.

How the hell did you get a warning?
Also: I agree, it's very unnecessary to have it stapled on the user like that. Warnings should be no more simple than telling a user that she or he needs to fix something about them.

Who cares if it's stapled under your name? As long as it's not 99% no one will care if you have a warning. It's not like it labels you as a criminal.

Plus, this isn't just forum policy -- this is a Proboards function. Don't like it, don't do anything that may get you a warning (like spoilers, blatant insults, spam, bumping dead topic and all that other fun jazz).

I dont think you can make it so that your warning level in only on your profile.
Plus, if its next to your name and if its high it should embarrass you a bit and prevent you from doing it again... The warning thing is fine the way it is, just dont do anything bad xD

I would prefer it to be hidden. Mine's been at 99% for as long as around 3-5 months.

I thought overtime the warning levels decreased if you didn't do anything bad...

Warning levels do not decrease automatically. They are removed by a moderator after 2 months of good behavior. The policy of this forum is that you are to PM a moderator if you feel your warning level should be removed, otherwise it may go unnoticed. I try to watch these but sometimes some fall through the cracks.

That's reasonable enough. Before, I had no idea if they ever went away. I never saw Iams' level go down so I assumed some of us were stuck with a warning level.
April 11 is 2 months after I got my violation, so I'll take that

Nah.. Iams keeps going up since he keeps breaking the rules over and over. You shouldn't have to worry about that.

lol
And before anyone thinks our mods are really strict... there are plenty of forums that will suspend you after 1 brokeb rule. Do it say 3 times and you'd be banned.
If Iams did the same on most other forums he probably would've been IP banned months ago.

If you have broken the offense again, than the mod steps in and either gives you an infraction (Or a "warning level", which is exactly the same thing) or a temp or full ban. If someone makes a mistake and bumps an old topic, he or she shouldn't get any warning %'s, especially newer users.

The experience level of a user is taken into account, as well as the # of offenses.
If someone his first week here bumped and old topic i'll send the person a PM explaining what he did, why its against the rules, and not to do it again.
If someone whose been here for several months or someone whose a repeat offender does it, I have a lot less sympathy.

Leave Iams alone. Iams needs his sleep and his snickerdoodles I've behaved sometimes, but with some of the rules I've broken I understand my warning level. Mine's an up and down thing. I might be somewhat of a rebel, but not as much as vokloko. I didn't create 6 accounts and name one of them ibumpoldtopics (even though I've bumped a few). Many people here bump topics lol

Haha, I'm not sure "rebel" is the right word...

I thnk it should be kept private. But I don't really care about someones warning level unless its mine.

Keep up with some of your posts consisting of bumped threads that have been dead for a while, you might end up caring about yours.

Speaking about warning levels, I don't recall seeing any lately. I don't know if it's that they've become hidden, or simply because of the lack of recent activity by members (including the mods and admins).
