I've been meaning to do this post for awhile but now that there is somewhat of a lull in posts I think it would be a perfect time for different stats and facts about SASUKE 26.
First of all, we know 80 of the 100+ attempts at Stage 1 (most of the Americans did not have set numbers). These results include the people shown in the TBS Broadcast, G4 Broadcast, SASUKE 26 Navi, all of the SASUKE commercials, and external information from people there. Of those 80 results, here's how competitors did:
Fails:
Step Slider - 19
Hazard Swing - 9
Rolling Escargot -25
Jumping Spider - 7
Half-Pipe Attack - 5
Warped Wall - 1
Giant Swing - 1
Tarzan Rope - 0
Rope Ladder - 3
-----------------
Clear - 10
Also, several clear streaks remain in tact. Most notable are Okuyama and Li's clear streaks, making them two of the most consistent competitors in the history of SASUKE:
(Italics denote current streaks)
Consecutive First Stage Clears:
Takeda Toshihiro 8 (SASUKE 11-18)
Nagano Makoto 8 (SASUKE 11-18)
Shiratori Bunpei 7 (SASUKE 11-17)
Yamada Katsumi 6 (SASUKE 1-6)
Li En Zhi 6 (SASUKE 21-26)
Yamamoto Shingo 5 (SASUKE 11-15)
Kane Kosugi 5 (SASUKE 1,4,6-8)
Okuyama Yoshiyuki 5 (SASUKE 22-26)
Nakata Daisuke 4 (SASUKE 8-11)
Hashimoto Koji 4 (SASUKE 23-26)
Brian Orosco 4 (SASUKE 21,23,25,26)
Yamada Koji 4 (SASUKE 15-17,19)
Urushihara Yuuji 4 (SASUKE 22-25)
Yamada Katsumi 4 (SASUKE 9-12)
Asaoka Hiroyuki 4 (SASUKE 10-12,14)
Consecutive Third Stage Appearances:
Takeda Toshihiro 7 (SASUKE 11-17)
Okuyama Yoshiyuki 5 (SASUKE 22-26)
Nagano Makoto 4 (SASUKE 11-14)
Shiratori Bunpei 3 (SASUKE 15-17)
Nagano Makoto 3 (SASUKE 16-18)
Takahashi Kenji 3 (SASUKE 23-25)
Li En Zhi 3 (SASUKE 24-26)
Omori Akira 3 (SASUKE 1-3)
Other random facts:
* As many know, this was the worst All-Star performance, but did you know that this was also the worst performance by the Shin-Sedai since the group rose to prominence in SASUKE 22?
* On the other hand, this was easily the best performing tournament by the Americans.
* SASUKE 26 set a record of longest time until the first Japanese clear (Ishikawa's (#85) clear was the first).
Here are the others:
SASUKE 26 - #85
SASUKE 21 - #83
SASUKE 6 - #83
*Paul Kasemir and Brent Steffensen made it to the Third Stage in their first attempts. This feat had only happened 9 times since SASUKE 5:
Paul Kasemir 26
Brent Steffensen 26
Levi Meeuwenberg 20
Paul Anthony Terek 17
Adachi Yuta 17
Ishikawa Terukazu 14
Yamada Koji 12
Kobayashi Masahi 12
Kobayashi Shinji 11
Jordan Jovtchev 8
Hatakeda Yoshizaki 6
* Morikami Daisuke's time out was the closest time out since the Rope Ladder was introduced in SASUKE 18.
* This is the 4th tournament in a row (when TBS/M9 are deciding numbers) that the person wearing #84 has cleared the First Stage.
22 - Okuyama Yoshiyuki
23 - Takahashi Kenji
24 - Washimi Yuji
26 - David Campbell
* Ishikawa's clear was only the second time a person with that number (#85) has cleared the First Stage. The first was Hashimoto Koji in SASUKE 24.
* Iketani's clear came 10 tournaments after his last clear (SASUKE 16), this ties the record between First Stage clears with fellow Muscle Musical Member Ishikawa Terukazu who cleared in SASUKE 14 and then again in SASUKE 24.
* This was the first tournament where no one failed the Unstable Bridge.
* Okuyama's Second Stage clear was the closest STAGE 2 clear since James Okada's 0.1 seconds left finish in SASUKE 7.
* In only two tournaments, the Doorknob Grasper and Roulette Cylinder have combined to take out 3 competitors (Brian twice), these are more competitors than the first three obstacles of Stage 3 eliminated in all of Shin-SASUKE.
