With the death of my computer's video card, i'm stuck to playing ye olde PS1 and PS2 games (I don't have a 360, PS3, or Wii).
With that in mind, I've gone really far back as to playing the first three Spyro the Dragon games, in order, to over 100% completion.
Spyro the Dragon - 120/120% complete. Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage - 100/100% complete. Spyro 3: Year of the Dragon - 47/117% complete (currently playing).
After this, I'm going to go through Chrono Cross again, as I recently started a new game and am about half-way through. Probably do the same to Final Fantasy VIII since I've got a save file in a similar situation.

Such mystical magical adventures. Going back and playing them last year... they really havn't aged well But I still had a lot of fun. The first is by far my favorite. Back in the day it was an awesome platformer that took you to many different locations, but to todays standards, the controls are pretty crappy.

Noooo! Don't play FF8!!!!! Anyway. Roffle Mao. I can't remember, are you the fan of The Spoony Experiment, and his review of FF8? 8 is my least favorite of the FF7-9 PS1 titles, but I had already played through 9 recently and was going to do 8, then 7... but then I got distracted by Chrono Cross when I found the disks in one of my boxes. I freakin loved the Spyro games growing up. Such mystical magical adventures. Going back and playing them last year... they really havn't aged well But I still had a lot of fun. The first is by far my favorite. Back in the day it was an awesome platformer that took you to many different locations, but to todays standards, the controls are pretty crappy. I still love 'em, though now as a 22 year old, I'm looking back on them with much criticism. The gameplay is still most definitely there, the variety of levels and their themes are great, and the stories are pretty lackluster for the most part, with them only getting better with each release; for the first 3 at least, haven't played anything after 3 except demos. The cheesiness of dialogue is both humorous and bland at the same time, it's very circumstantial to the individual level. I have my favorites of each one though... Spyro 1 - It was fun, original, and a great timesink. After playthrough, it seems as though the game was quite, well... weak. The story of Gnasty Gnorc was never really explored beyond him wanting all the dragons put away into crystal for some odd and arbitrary "control the realm" reason, which is probably all it needs but still, there's no explanation on anything in the world, at all. Gameplay was pretty solid though, levels were pretty short now that I've seen them again. One gripe being the terrible, terrible camera that can only be manipulated with L2/R2 buttons and/or the "Active/Passive" camera mode in the options. Also, the bosses in this one were waaaay too easy, one shot them all pretty much. Spyro 2 - I really, really enjoyed the gameplay of this one, but in retrospect, on my playthrough just last night, it's definitely got some really, really boring levels and with every level having it's own enemies, with no core theme, it seems like Ripto never really controlled anything in Avalar like he claimed. The story was terribly weak in that regard, he arrives, they summon a dragon, dragon beats Ripto, the end. Seemed more like Moneybags reigned supreme with him gouging your eyes out for gems every 5 minutes. Spyro 3 - Probably the best in story and gameplay, since it builds off of the gameplay of Spyro 2, but continues the story of 1 and 2 together, which was nice, and it shows you more of the world as a whole. Granted, Avalar (Spyro 2) was also part of the same world, but Spyro 3 really explored the idea of dragons living all over the world rather than one centralized location, and noted that the source of magic in the world comes from the existence of the dragons. I'd have to say that my favorite of the three would be, well, the third one. Granted, I hate the fact that the 2nd and 3rd ones really suffer from with having to learn abilities or unlock characters, resulting in alot of backtracking to previous worlds, that the first one did not have, and allowed me to go from 0 to 120% completion straight through without backtracking.

What's up with these crazy percentages? 120%? 117%? Weird... How long did it take you to beat each title? And yes, I'm the ff8 hater To be fair I gave the game a chance... a LOT of chances.

Spyro the Dragon - 120/120% complete. ditto x10 XD. My sister and I used to play that game for HOURS. Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage - 100/100% complete. Dragon Shores? Spyro 3: Year of the Dragon - 47/117% complete (currently playing). What level are you on? I've beaten that game once, and I want to play it again. Also, I must inform the uneducated Bada. Spyro has bonus levels, in the first one you got 10,000 gems(most in other levels was 400). Second one you got tokens...and I don't remember the third's bonus level.

I'm just saying, they could still label the bonus levels under the regular % instead of having weird numbers Like in newer games, even if you complete the game you arn't at 100%. You have to do extra stuff (bonus levels) to get to 100. But they don't give you 120%. Just thought it was a little odd.

It's more of a "You beat the boss, now here's his stash." Honestly, you have to TRY to die in those levels XD.

Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage - 100/100% complete. Dragon Shores? Even with Dragon Shores in Spyro 2, it doesn't push the percentage above 100%, seeing as how the only extra content is mini-games that offer access to an in-game cutscene theater of cutscenes seen throughout the game, and the superflame power-up permanently attached to Spyro; adding no additional collection of orbs, talismans, or gems. What level are you on? I've beaten that game once, and I want to play it again. Currently on the "Evening Lakes" home world, the 3rd hub to sub-world portals, before the 4th and final "Midnight Mountains" home world. About 40% complete due to the requirement of unlocking other characters in later worlds and having to backtrack. Also, I must inform the uneducated Bada. Spyro has bonus levels, in the first one you got 10,000 gems(most in other levels was 400). Second one you got tokens...and I don't remember the third's bonus level. Yea, back in the older games like Spyro, 100% was for everything in the game that was considered to have purpose towards the story, as well as key item collection that have relation to the story. Thus, 100% in Spyro 1 was collecting all the gems (currency), dragon eggs (14-ish), and freeing the dragons from their crystal prisons (70-ish). Once it was all collected though, you could then access bonus content that pushed the percentage above 100%, seeing as it had no point to the story or anything else really, aside from extra "for fun" gameplay. The game, once completed at 100%, has 12,000 gems, the 14 or so dragon eggs, and the 70 or so dragons. The bonus level, gives an extra 2,000 gems that puts your total at 14,000 out of 12,000 - hence, the 120%. Older games pretty much made 100% be essential game content that was somehow purposeful to the game in some way, with additional bonus reward content not detrimental to the game, as extra bonus content above 100%. Newer games however, make everything in the game, regardless of purpose in the game, as content that builds towards the 100% completion of the game, and bonus content is typically included within this percentage. For example, GTA 4, where the story is only about 60-ish% of the game, and optional side missions, collecting the 100 pidgeons, stunt jumps, etc - are all added upto the total 100%. Just bought Portal today (the first one, it was way cheaper) for $10 on Steam. Wow I'm late on PC games One of the greatest games I've ever played in my 19 year gaming career.

Don't spoil GTA 4 for me How about the Teen Titans game? There was collecting these gems and Soto's Dog and Larry the Titan. Getting a 100% on this one is gonna be tough. I've gotten 100% on all three Sly Cooper games (*cough* I'm a gaming nerd lol *cough*). It was easy once I got cracking. These game percentages depend on how hard you look or how much heart you put into it they say... But that's not the case all the time.

Never maxed out a Spyro game because I hated backtracking lol. Should buy a PS1 including those games and Crash and just splurge.

Amazon had Portal 2 at a preorder price of $35 on the day before the game was released. I thought about it but I'm still debating on whether I should get the PC version or the PS3 version. The PS3 version let's you link your PSN ID to your Steam account and you can play on both your PS3 and PC/Mac (not at the same time), but you get cross-platform co-op. PS3 version is 15 bucks more and I don't see a price drop or a sale anytime soon, while I'm sure for the next Steam Holiday Sale, Portal 2 for PC will probably have some huge discount. I'll just wait a bit. I got L4D and L4D2 for 10 bucks less off Amazon a week after they were released.

The 3rd was my favorite. The ones released for the ps2 were dreadful. I didn't even want to complete the 4th, I was about 1/4 the way through and I just gave it up. For whatever reason I bought the one that came after it and it just didn't feel like Spyro anymore, I quit right in the middle for that one as well. When I was younger, treetops in the first game drove me crazy. I could not figure out how to get that one dragon who is on that almost-impossible-to-get-to platform.

Ooh actually I remember that level as well. There was another dragon that was obnoxiously difficult to get there as well.
