LOL Bada.. it's not Demon Souls 2 because they lost the ability to call it that with a different publisher I got the story from my friend. Screw being soft.. i despise PvP with a passion. Great game nontheless with a very different twist to gameplay which is refreshing to see. I am just not it's target audience From what I understand it is still being published by the same people and made by From Software. Either way it wouldn't be a very good idea to call it DS2 or make it a direct sequel, IMO. It's a spiritual successor, just like how Demon's Souls was a successor to the old King's Field games. And Demon's Souls doesn't have PVP if you don't play online. Even when you're online there is hardly ever any FORCED PVP. There is one boss that you fight which there is a chance that instead of fighting the AI it'll turn out to be a real player instead, and if you're alive (which trust me, this is almost NEVER) then it's possible for someone to enter your game and try to kill you. But when I played my first run through, I only fought 1 person. So in the 30+ hours of gameplay time, I had about 10 minutes of PVP in which I casually slaughtered the invading player because invading players only have 1/2 HP as normal. If you want no PVP at all simply don't play online

That's odd. Everything I've read meant that they couldn't legally call it Demon Souls 2 because they didn't have the rights to it the name itself. Take out of it what you want. I really could care less what it's called.. we all know it's DS2. PvP is in the game and I don't like any of it. I don't care for it in any of it however small or large the aspect is. I know when my friend played it he kept running into people trying to kill him.. all the time.. I don't like that aspect. Or he would go to a portion of the game and he'd see people working on the opposite of the world trying to kill the same monster. I don't want any of that to happen in my game. Period. Which is why I said it's not my cup of tea. The game shines online and that is the hook of the game. What you do in your game SHOULD be irrelevant to my gameplay but it's not.. they are intertwined.. Demon Souls niche is that they are intertwined and that's why it's successful. But it's that catch that I despise out of the game and thus the reason why I refuse to play it.

Well as I said, it's a very rare thing for your game to get invaded, and you can simply choose to not play online. (It's still VERY fun offline, trust me) The cool thing about it being online is that you can see how people before you died, and read messages that people leave (Which are very helpful and at times downright hilarious ) I'm not sure what you're referring too when you said "he'd see people working on the opposite of the world trying to kill the same monster." Do you mean when randomly you may see a ghostly figure of another player fighting? I'm not sure why that would annoy you. It's pretty cool and helpful to see how other people are handling a certain situation. Though it's fine if you don't like any of that, your opinion, and I'm sure a lot of people hold it. I'm just saying I have a lot of friends who did end up playing the game offline, and loved it. The sense of reward you get for taking down one of those giant bosses in unrivaled in any game I've ever played. The difficulty to me was "just right". Never hard enough to point where I'd say "F this, I'm done with this game". Hard enough to make me say "There's no way I can beat this guy..." and start to doubt myself. Then after a few tries you slowly do better, and better, and then there's that one try where you finally get it, and man does that feel good. And about the title, I'm not saying you're wrong because I havn't looked that much into it... if you've read about it then you're probably right, I just hadn't heard of that until now. Regardless, even if it's not a direct sequel (which it isn't) the game is relatively the same. It's like going from Grand Theft Auto 3 to Grand Theft Auto San Andreas. San Andreas wasn't a direct sequel, but obviously was the same game

I haven't played an MMORPG since WoW and that was three years ago. The PvP aspect was what i found most fun in WoW. On a side note; i've just finished Mass Effect one as a renegade and it was just too damn awesome. Spolier ahead don't look on any account if you haven't completed Mass Effect: I didn't have the guts to kill Wrex on Virimere nor did i make Udina the Council Chief - i'm that much of a softy. Now i'm gonna replay Mass Effect two - can't wait ;D

Bada you sure have a lot to say for someone who didn't play online with DS1.. the part I didn't like LOL Mike about your choices.. As renegade (full renegade) you don't kill Wrex anyway and for Udina.. I didn't either LOL He's such a jerk... and to quote a movie I haven't seen but love the phrase. I didn't go full retard on it.

I played on and offline for DS1. I'm saying I enjoyed both, and even if you turn off the online component it's still an enjoyable game. So if you personally didn't like the online aspect, just turn it off

Demon's Souls is one of those games I've always wanted to play, but I don't own a PS3. Darn it! Why can't it be on PC!

Ah.. though from what I've gathered you don't even get that dialogue if you don't have all your points on intimidate.. otherwise he's toast.. LOL I can't imagine him dead during renegade.. after all.. he's one bada$$ lol!

Yeah, the full intimidate/renegade option saves him but you can do this: Talk to ashley before you talk to wrex and you'll prepate her to shoot. When you do speak to wrex one of the first options is to shoot him. I was gonna do that but saved him via my full renegade/loyalty angle. Because he is indeed a badass.

Just so the topic doesn't turn into a mass effect discussion (not that it's a bad thing, just not everyone has played it ) I'd like to talk about my "guilty pleasure" games. These are games in which they arn't necessarily good or highly thought of games, but ones that I enjoy nonetheless. My absolute best example of this: Dynasty Warriors People hate on this game all the time. There are like 20 of these titles with the Dynasty Warrior name, and hardly anything has changed since the third. It doesn't take much skill as people like to call it a "button smasher". There's not much tactics or skill involved, nor is there too much variety in terms of combos. However I just get the greatest satisfaction killing hundreds upon hundreds of troops. In the newer games, those hundreds turn into thousands! I also REALLY love the 3 kingdoms era in chinese history. Though this game really doesn't follow the history very well, it does have the characters from that time period. It's like if they all had superhuman abilities or something. The weapons are also questionable at best sometimes. Girls fighting with fans? Zhuge Liang shooting lightning? Ling Tong using Nun-chaku's? In the newest installment: A Drill lance, 7 floating swords, and a Barett esque arm turret. I ever became more interested after learning the actual history from my girlfriend (chinese, and raised in China) I love these games to death. I'll talk about more later. Anyone else love the Dynasty Warrior or similar series? (Sengoku Basara, Samurai Warriors) Anyone else have "guilty pleasures"?

I remember when I first played Dynasty Warriors. Forgot which one but it was on the original Xbox, at first I just ran around mashing buttons but then I started to figure out combos and the timings and I was hooked.
I've been looking into the Dynasty Warriors Gundam games and I'm definitely looking forward to the third installment for my PS3 when it comes out.

I abuse Xbox live for board games like crazy.. LOL Hubby never wants to play with me so I have a couple ways of playing online. Either against computer or online with others.

I personally didn't like the gundam ones because of the "zone system", or whatever it's called. Also, a few of my favorite gundams weren't included which saddened me. And as I said, I'm really interested in the chinese characters, more-so than the gundams. They also have a "fist of the north star" version. Havn't played it though.

I haven't played the first two Gundam games, but I read the 3rd one is going to have almost all the old ones plus a bunch of new ones.
I remember seeing the review of Fist of the North Star on X-Play. I think they gave it a 1 out of 5. But if you're a fan of the series, rent it and check it out.

I used to play Dynasty Warriors when I was a young kid (never little, just young ) on my friend's Sega Saturn. Good times, good times. Looking at my collection, the closest I can get to a guilty pleasure is one of the WWE SvR games, and NBA Jam, and maybe Dead Rising (Although I still stand by it's sheer awesomeness)
