I'm not sure if they would change up the finals. They did get a lot of complaints from the fans about boot camp but I'm not sure if they will want to put in the effort for something new.

Not to mention boot camp was a great way to add more time in episodes without having to spend alot of money. If they do change anything, it's the current 3 team system they had with ANW2, but after what happened with ANW2, I don't think they'll do that.

I do believe until ANW goes solo I doubt the initial format will change much. The only thing that seems to change from each is how they pick the finalists to Japan. ANW1 - ANW2 was really different. I suspect they will change format simply because ratings wise that is what is rumored to have taken the hit with a lot of people boycotting the episodes from those who actually watched an enjoyed the Venice Beach Stuff. If they can somehow expand the Venice Beach format I honestly believe they have a chance to get people to watch the whole show.

I figure with the results we got with Americans in 26... they're not changing a thing. TBH, as much as I felt uncomfortable watching the boot camp episodes... I do think that it trained them well for the real deal. It was really clever of them to have them on obstacles like the DSL and Balance Tank to prepare them for the actual course. Nobody failed any of the obstacles from boot camp in the actual competition (except Travis on the Balance Tank), so the training showed. What ANW wants is a winner, and had they been more strict about CH training they might have gotten one.

Well I think ratings come before results so I think that they will change the way they eliminated people at boot camp. They should get rid of the "voting" and I think it will be good (except that they should treat the competitors better. Del Taco? Really?).

Maybe more than 300 people will come. Who knows? It's probably going to be ridiculous come ANW3... I'm sort of hoping they start considering having 2 ANW3 courses, one on the West coast, and the other one on the East coast, or in that general area.

Yeah.. disturbing that they only paid attention to the very first episode to judge the entire series.. that said.. even if it was the highest rated in G4 history.. it wasn't even a blip on the radar in cable television. Considering the mass amount of advertising.. I was actually very surprised they couldn't break a single digit in ratings.. I mean c'mon.. worse shows had double digits and G4 which has a higher market share continues to be dead last..

Probably barely related.. but I get the feeling the DirecTV thing probably was a big hit to ANW2's ratings..

I think the face that they only used the first episode to show ratings is saying something about what the next format will be. They tried to show great ratings so didn't give the ones to boot camp. This shows that they know it did not do well and will probably choose not to do the boot camp again. It seems G4 is learning from these kinds of things (the transition from ANW to ANW2) so I have faith that ANW3 will have a final that is more in the spirit of Sasuke.

It's possible it was on at a bad time.
And there are other excuses.
But yeah... still an awful rating in general. For G4 though it's their light at the end of the tunnel.

I don't think G4 is really that disappointed with the ratings of ANW2, there probably happy with it. They replayed it multiple times, which shows that it keeps viewers attentions (Which includes the boot camp episodes btw) so I could see ANW3 changing, obviously the pilot for ANW2 was probably the highest rated episode, and everything after that wasn't as great, but that doesn't mean the ratings were awful.
This is relative to G4's standards of course.

Which is why they should be taking full advantage of the feedback they are getting. People didn't like the boot camp so that will probably be gone.

Ratings > Facebook fan page They may take it into consideration, but if the ratings were decent/expected for ANW2, than I don't think they will change it.

You do realize that the outrage was not limited to the Facebook.. right? And last time I checked.. ratings were affected because of the outrage. As for changing it.. that will depend on the the sponsors.. not the fans. That hasn't changed and I doubt it ever will.

I will guess that it was not good. For each fb person who complained there must be many people who feel the same way who would just flip the channel. I wouldn't be surprised if it stays the same but it would be in G4's bests interests to change the format.

The rest of the viewers are G4 fans, or slight ninja warrior fans. For those guys, I don't think they are perfectionists, and they probably didn't mind it as much as we did. But again, we don't know, so we'll just have to wait until ANW 3 to see what they change. It'll be here sooner than we think.

Don't forget how many people registered to G4's forums just to complain about the boot camp thing..
