It was awesome to see him make the second stage again for the first time in over 5 years. Kinda weird knowing though that that was his first time ever attempting the salmon ladder. I'm glad he made it through stage 1 at least.

I saw Iketani but no all Stars.
Still happy for the guy!

It was great to see him. Age certainly caught up to him. He looked solid on the Warped Wall as I figured that would have taken him out.
I gave him better odds to beat the DSL than Iketani, but I guess he didn't have the technique for it.

Yes! I was really psyched to see him back in the second stage... but when you saw him after the first few notches of the SL... you could start to put the pieces together (with the commercial in mind).

If the bar didn't get caught up at the last jump on the first side of the salmon ladder, I'm pretty sure he could of made it. I remember him being fast during stage 1 back in Akiyama's time, but that was then

I was really glad he cleared. And the wall over in one! I thought I saw him the trailer on the DSL so I was expecting him to fail that.

After Ishikawa fell on the DSL and Iketani was the only guy left to attempt Stage 2 who doesn't wear a shirt, it was pretty obvious IMO. Nevertheless I was very excited when he finally cleared Stage 1 again. Hopefully we'll see him improve next time he competes.

He looked slow and tired as he was coming up the Salmon Ladder. It could've been poor technique as a factor, but he looked immediately drained.

It looked as if Naoki Iketani had never trained or been on a salmon ladder ever before. Impressive stage 1 run (especially with how high he caught the Giant Swing's net, man did that save time), unimpressed by stage 2 run...

Well he's never attempted the salmon ladder before, and for someone whom never touted strong upper body strength, I think he did great.

I don't think we really exepcted Iketani to get past the DSL but I'm just glad he cleared stage 1 after so many years - 16 was the last right?

He showed that he still had potential. Glad for him.

If he failed on the DSL, then this makes the UCH a nightmare for him.

If he failed on the DSL, then this makes the UCH a nightmare for him. Yuuji failed the DSL, though I think he'd have a good shot at clearing the UCH. I don't see your point

He's saying that if Iketani can't handle the DSL, then he definitely couldn't handle the UCH. It makes sense too, Iketani was 0 for 2 on the V3 Cliffhanger.

Then again, it was Iketani's first try on the salmon ladder, and in the shin second stage. Besides that was years ago, who knows, it's possible he could've gotten better.
That's not a statement I'd personally disagree with, but I don't see how his DSL fail and the UCH correlate.

They don't correlate, he's just stating the obvious.
Like Scnoi said, If Iketani can't pass the DSL he has no chance on the UCH. Yuuji is obviously different cos we know he can beat the DSL.
