I have this question here. I'm leaving out the Mountain Climb, BTW, since I was focusing on ropes. What do you think is the better rope-oriented obstacle of Stage 1 (or what was your favorite)?
To me while the Rope Ladder seems a bit more challenging in that you never know how stable the ladder can be when you hurl yourself onto it, I think I prefer the Rope Climb. It seems tough too, but with the right amount of strength and speed, this obstacle is a breeze. And we've seen our share of heartbreak on it too, unfortunately.
Anyway, how about you guys?

I think watching the Final Climb is more entertaining of an obstacle, but the Rope Ladder idea is a bit too easy, but the Rope Climb isn't as fun to watch so its up to which way you mean

IMO, the rope climb is a better obstacle, because in a short-of-time situation you could climb up the wall quickly and not have to run to hit the finish buzzer. Also, there have been so many heartbreaking moments when people like Yamada and Yamamoto timed out on the rope climb, which makes it a classic IMO. There seems to have been much less timing-out on the rope ladder than the rope climb as well, since fewer people have advanced that far in the new course, making the obstacle lose some of its drama in my eyes at least.

Yea, I would have to agree with the Rope Climb. I think the Rope Ladder is tougher, because it takes longer to climb (I don't think anyone has climbed it in under 13 seconds), but I like the Rope Climb better. You can climb the rope faster so there is a better chance of getting a last second stage clear, making for a more exciting finish imo.

I agree that less people making it there takes some of the fun out of it. And yeah, that whole Bridge thing is dumb, you could just climb up and hit the button, now you got to climb up, go across, THEN hit the button.

The bridge is there to help weed out the people that (like you said) simply dive for the finish. With the two exceptions during 21, most people who get to the bridge are finishing with more than a good amount of time, where-as (maybe it was just me) more people were able to stretch to grab the button before.

Surprised to see the complete majority going to rope climb, after 3-17 I just got tired of it. I know it's kind of typical of me, but I like every change shin-Sasuke had and still has to offer. So instead of slamming your feet onto the side and climbing up, it's more of a graceful catch of the net and something you can get caught up in especially if in a hurry. Which is why there is a bridge before the button so it is safe when you hit the net.

hey with the rope climb how else would you see how bad someone's strength was? LOL and see Shingo go backwards and dangle.. and see people who had like 30 friggin' seconds and STILL lose on the stupid rope? Yeah my vote went to the rope climb

Mine too, as mentioned. Though, with the Rope Ladder and the bridge, if it weren't for that, we wouldn't have seen Brian's dramatic finish in 21. I can understand that. Otherwise, Rope Climb had more excitement.
