I would assume the runs they showed won't be shown during 26. Good to see an hour of navi.

As for the runs.. I would suspect they wouldn't show them.. or at best FF. reminded me of an old Sasuke Maniac episode!

Feels odd no Takeda I must say! Yes agree. But if M9 were on the ball this would not likely have happened. But whatever...

Since it was shown in the navi, you can list the ANW10 that made it to Japan. However, you cannot say how they did or imply it in any way. If anyone does, they will be suspended until after SASUKE 26 starts.

The reason wasn't posted anywhere.. just a picture of them and "absent" in red Well it's kind of understandable.. Bunpei always seems to have an injured back or knee or something.. Akiyama only competes every other tournament (Understandable really.. he lives all the way in Hokkaido, Midoriyama is in Yokohama, I'll let you guys look up the distance yourselves), And Takeda usually isn't absent but it's understandable if he couldn't make it.. He is a fire fighter and s*** does catch fire... Also they gave everyone pretty much no notice of when it was recording, by the 3rd no one knew, by the 19th (or was it 16th?.... Or 13th?.... Somewhere in those days...) it was recording, so maybe he couldn't ask for the day off in time.. I mean Nagano is the Captain of his boat, Shingo is the Area Manager of his gas station and Yamada.... Doesn't seem to know what a "job" is.... So they all shouldn't have had problems getting off work.

I'm starting to get worried about the new stars' attendance. It's not lookin so good right now. 1/2 the all stars and even "Amerika #1" isn't competing this time (yeah I know, injury but still).

I wouldn't worry so much. Sasuke 26 was literally assembled in 2 weeks out of thin air. Many got caught with the scheduling problems (Takeda included) so I would suspect provided there is a Sasuke 27 (pray for great ratings ya'll!) they BETTER be organized better so people can change their schedules to accommodate it. The only person TBS/M9 is willing to work around is Nagano. That's been proven in the past and I'm convinced they would/have been doing it again.

Glad Yamada is back. I don't care how or why, but it was sad to see him gone.
Though 26 is even worse... only half of the all-stars? Dear lord.
Not only that, this is the first tournament Takeda has missed. Bunpei and Akiyama are at least understandable on why they're absent, but man Takeda not being there bums me out.
Who is going to hit Nagano's back before his run, shingo? lol... I'd love to see that.

Then Takeda took over. But he's sadistic, he hits a lot harder than Yamada. Nagano gets a reprieve this time, LOL.

I still can't believe though that Takeda's not going to be there. Sasuke isn't the same without him there. He's been there every time since he started all the way back in Sasuke 5, so confirmation of this is so shocking and sad to hear IMO. Considering there is a 27, I really hope that not only Takeda is back but all of the All-Stars for that matter (the last time all 6 competed was in 17 for crying out loud! ) as well as more great competitors from the past returning once again to tackle the course (though I will that it seems like M9 did a decent job with this for 26 with Miyazaki and Iketani coming back, but if you ask me they still could've done a lot more). It's even more of a shame considering how 26 was rushed together so quickly and sloppily as well, which is (as much as I hate to admit it) giving me bad feelings about the future of Sasuke now more than ever. Granted I and many of the rest of us on here still enjoy the show a lot (not to mention how M9 and TBS are still showing how they'd probably like to continue broadcasting Sasuke for years to come), but the combination of very long broadcasts, how repetitive runs can become fairly quickly, lack of advertising, the loss of the idea that an average joe can beat the course (i.e. you have to train for it constantly to even have a chance at clearing Stage 1 anymore), and multiple other factors seem to be making Sasuke less and less appealing to Japanese viewers as the tournaments progress. And although much of this and many of the previous things I said is just my opinion on it, what I'm basically trying to get across it that if Sasuke 26 doesn't bring in decent ratings (i.e. at least 10-15% of the viewing audience for its time slot), the show's downfall is more likely than ever before. Despite how much none of us want this to happen, there's not much any of us can do other than hope for the best from M9 and TBS putting their best efforts into the series as well as the Japanese audience's "revival" into it as a response.

OK, finally watched NAvi so here are my thoughts... The Good: 1. It was great to get a whole hour of Navi. Things may be looking up.... 2. It was great to see changes made to the course- mostly stage 1. MOst of the new obstacles seem quite good as well. 3. TBS needed some 'star power' after the last competition and getting Naoto/Exile members and other Japanese celebrities was vital for ratings in Japan. Time will tell if they are good or not... 4. We learned some info about Okuyama previous runs. We have confirmation that he failed the "Warped Wall" in 19 and did not compete in #21. The Bad: 1. I didn't see ONE shot of Li En Zhi or the Shin-Sedai (excluding Yuuj). WTF? Considering the fact that Li and Koji got the furthest last time and were in the final stage in #24, I thought that was shocking not even to mention their names. Disappointing... 2. Rolling Escargot? You've got to be kidding. 3. No Takeda - just won't be the same without him. He should return though... 4. A big chunk of time given to the ANW challenge in the US and the ANW competitors. Just wonder if this is a sign for the future of SASUKE. The Ugly: Not much I really ddn't like about Navi, but (like many of you) I was perplexed by this whole Top 10 thing. Correct me if I'm wrong, but was Yamada the #1 choice for Kanzenseiha? And choosing Mr. Handball and Sato in the top 5? Was this a serious poll or a joke? I just don't get this idea because (to me) it seemed to put a negatve spin on SASUKE instead of a positive one. IF people really thought that Yamada was the most likely to win, then that says that says that few Japanese watch or follow SASUKE. Instead of focusing on a guy who really passed his prime a long time ago, why didn't they focus on these 'new stars' that actually have a chance of getting to stage 3 or beyond. Very odd... Just my opinions remember...

Lars, I believe it was confirmed a long time ago that Okuyama failed the warped wall. I think they even showed the footage once before. Also don't think about the top 10 thing too hard, it's more of a popularity poll than anything the guy from exile was on there, who had never even been to a Sasuke tourney.

The people being polled were just random people on the streets, and most probably don't watch SASUKE with any regularity. They would pick who they know and/or want to see succeed. I'd wager that most of the people who were choosing had no idea who most of the people on the board were.
As long as the actual broadcast doesn't burn time focusing on ANW, having them show the footage during Navi is a good trade-off. For all we know, this will be the last time we see many of those ANW faces on Japanese TV.
People need to stop whining about Random Person A not being there. It happened, deal with it. That includes the All-Stars. At this point, the show should not begin and end with their participation.
TBS/M9 should be making more of an effort to promote Yuuji and the new stars. If they had in the promotion for 26, I'm sure Yuuji would have been a lot higher than 6th on that list.

Okuyama was #95 in Sasuke 21, he failed the Warped Wall as well. Not sure why they didn't add that on the chart but whatever.

FAir enough. But then why waste time with this sort of poll then. Just seems like taking a step backwards...

I agree but the ANW thing is still up in the air IMO.

In terms of Takeda, we're all just disappointed he's not there even though it was not his fault. For others, not sure who else was really supposed to be there and wasn't.

Totally agree so why didn't they? They just don't seem to get it. Again they just can't seem t let go of this 'let's pick on Yamada' idea. Move on FFS and focus on people who actually have a legitimate chance of doing well. I was disappointed that there was not mention of Li, Koji, Kenji and a few others who have been the top competitors in recent times.
But overall I was pleased about Navi! ;D
