it should be we all switch on the same date to make it easier, cause our daylight saving does not end till next month

We turned the clocks forward an hour in Australia on 4th October, I think.

Theres a big debate in Australia about having all the states turn to daylight "saving" (currently only 1 or 2 dont I think), and I can see the use in the darker colder states where it does give individuals/families a bit more time after work for leisure. In the northern states however (where I live) Its light by 5:30am and dark by 7:30pm anyway so I dont see the need for it, regardless of people in the other states thinking were "primitive" its just not needed. No offense but you dont "gain" or "lose" an hour anyway, Its just arbitrarily calling 4pm 3pm. I see its use but I dont believe the whole country needs to change to daylight saving just because an extra time zone is too hard for some people to keep up with (hell the US has what 3-4 different time zones and they handle it fine)

WA tried it for 3 years. I guess they decided against keeping it.

o___O Is it usually this early? I always thought it wasn't until at least the end of March or the beginning of April (unless the "spring forward, fall back" saying has been lying to me for all these years).

It's been only a couple of years that they moved it. And yes it used to be in April because it was during Finals in College and each year I bitched I lost an hour.

On the other hand, over here, we turn our clocks back an hour on April 5, for the end of DST and the start of ST

It's weird how so many places (even some within the USA) don't even change.. Personally I'd rather not have to change anything but least it's shorter in time (used to be October-April.. now it's November to March). Different countries changing at different times is probably because they haven't adopted the new schedule.. but then again.. I wish it didn't happen at all.

at least when I lose the hour I actually get sun and warmer temperatures. Thank goodness... When DST starts you KNOW spring is coming
